It's my birthday on Monday :-) and I'm thinking about treating myself to the Simon Says Stamp monthly card kit. I've seen lots of YouTube videos on them, and they look like good value except that shipping now brings them over $30 a month. :-(
Does anyone else participate in a card kit that they feel is a great value? I'm looking for a kit that offers a variety of styles, a stamp set that can be used for more than one occasion, and some full-size items. Are there any others that I should consider?

For Christmas, my husband gave me a 6 month subscription to Fun Stampers Journey Kit of the Month. I have received 3 so far. Each has a stamp set, idea sheets, and pre-cut cards, mattes, shapes, and embellishments such as twine, ribbon, pearls, sequins.
Also check out SEI at shopsei.com. I haven't tried those kits but they look good and I can vouch for the quality and service of the company (loooong time customer).

One thing I think you really need to do before making your decision is look at past kits. Figure out which one uses stamps and papers that fit your style. You won't be wowed by the kit every month, so you might want to look for a kit that allows you to skip a month.
You might want to look at the kits from Stamps of Life. There is also Paper Pumpkin from Stampin Up. And I know Studio Calico also has a card kit.
I do subscribe to the Simon Says Stamp card kit and the stamp and die kits from Stamps of Life. I really enjoy both of them.
I've never bought a kit, but if I was going to, I'd pick something a little generic that allows me to use the product any way I want. I won a Bo Bunny card kit at my LSS and it was absolutely gorgeous, but it didn't leave much latitude for me to change things up. It felt a bit like paint by numbers, you know?
For what it's worth, I have looked at the Simon Says Stamp kits in the past and they really appeal to me. Kristina Werner designs them, and she did a video talking about them. They always include something a little more longer lasting, ie last month there was a jar of Perfect Pearls in it.
I LOVE my Simon Says Stamp kit, and I'm looking at possibly trying Studio Calico, although from what I can see by looking at past kits they don't appeal to me quite as much as the SSS kits, and they don't seem like quite as good a value to me. Just got an email from SC today, they're offering 50% off your first kit if you sub and a free kit from last month (March's kit). So tempting lol!
Forgot to mention, I did receive the SEI kits at one time and really liked them, can't remember why I quit (probably because I was spending too much, ha!), I need to go and take a look at what they're offering currently...

OK, just went and looked at SEI, now I remember why I quit, these kits don't include stamps which is a must for me nowadays with kits. They were really nice kits though and if stamps don't matter to you you might want to give them a try.
