Default Dimensions of Layers

Does anyone know where I can find dimensions of all the different layers on cards? Big layers and small layers. Not sure if I am explaining myself correctly. I need some help with measurements when I go to cut all of the different layers. Anyone? Any where?

I don't have any measurments for layers on cards. I do mine all freehanded.

You might want to look at the card skecth challenge thread. there is a new skecth every wed and I know there are usually measurements for these. I will try to find the link for you....hold on

Do you mean if you want the mat to be showing a 1/8" around the top piece, than you could cut it 1/4" bigger?

Example: Top piece (stamped image piece) 3 x 4
Matting 3.25 x 4.25

Is that what you mean?

Here are the basic layering dimensions that I use to have a 1/8" border all around the edges of the layers. These layers go from the outside - in.

Standard card front size: 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"

Layer 1 - 4" x 5-1/4"

Layer 2 - 3-3/4" x 5"

Layer 3 - 3-1/2" x 4-3/4"

When you use measurements to make layers, you basically just decrease each measurement, length and width, by 1/4". This will give you a 1/8" border around the edges.

Hope this helps.
