Another thing I want to point out, on the white and vanilla c/s--I used to buy the 250 packs of c/s white at Office max--it's heavy weight, made a nice card--all that. But one day, I was playing on my Office Max paper and coming up with a design. It was okay, so I decided to make the same design on my su paper (why waste the good stuff if I wasn't going to like it). Anyway, the images stamped SO MUCH clearer on the SU c/s than the office max paper, that I swore to myself, right there and then, that I would NEVER, EVER make another card using that office max stuff again. I always thought it was me where on large stamps with lots of rubber and not a lot of detail (dd pines, perfect party, etc) that I was inking challenged. Finally figured out it was the paper not me. I haven't looked back since
I wish SU! would sell the u/s white and u/s vanilla in packs of 200 or so instead of those little packs of 40--I go through those like water--but then I'm one of those that prefers the white as the base of the card
Oh, and black in at least a pack of 100. I know it's part of a color family, but come on! I need more than 24 sheets at a time!!!
yes! yes! yes! when I first started stamping I didn't think I would even need it when I could get a big huge honking pack somewhere else. Now, what is left is scrap paper! SU cardstock is AMAZING!!! Use it once, you'll never want anything else!
I guess I should have just said ditto! (everyone who uses the stuff believes in it!)
Have you ever heard the saying "you get what you pay for", well that is the backing for SU cardstock. The colors are vibrant, and the paper thickness is of the highest quality. I bought the other packs that the craft stores sell and was highly disappointed. So shop it away, and you will see that it is all worth it! My customers know the difference and they know SU cardstock is the best in the market.
Yep, I agree, SU CS is the best. I have used many different types of CS but the quality that SU has is unbelievable. It makes a real difference in my projects.
I have done the cost breakdown......... it is actually cheaper than the stuff in the local scrap stores and paper zone per piece. Also, it blows those valu packs out of the water!
Annnnnnndddd................ If you are a bazzil lover..... they go very well together.
I gave all my other cardstock away as soon as I bought SU cardstock. It is just a nicer cardstock and is the best in my opinion.... you won't use anything else after you use it!!
Ummmm, well, I guess the answer is YES! LOL! Funny thing is I just found a sample pack in my files that I got as a door prize at an SU party. Yep - it's much thicker than the "other" stuff!! Thanks for the tip re: Quickutz too. I guess it's a trade-off for having heavier paper. I just ordered a supply from my rep. Thanks for the feedback!!
When I first started stamping, I looked into the prices of SU inks, paper, markers, and said I would buy the stamps from SU, but the others from other stores, well, I know have 2 complete color family sets of inks from CU, (with two more being ordered beginning of Feb), markers beign ordered in feb, and well lots of CU paper. I love that they all go together, the thickness of the paper, way color, now if someone would have convinced me of that before I had boughten my other stuff, look at teh money I would have saved. (but hey the kids need something to do. SO they get there own "stamping stuff".)
Of course I still use some of the non SU stuff when playing with an idea, that I am not sure I will like, just pick colors that are close to SU colors.

Oh SU paper is the greatest. I just did an auction on Ebay to get rid of some non-SU supplies and I sold all of my non-SU carstock in the auction. The other stuff is just not the same it's flimsy and the colors bleed terrible if you try to watercolor on them.
I thought this question had been asked before, but I've been through a few dozen pages of past posts and didn't find anything. I have a question about the weight of the ultrasmooth cardstock. I got my flyer approved by Demo Support, and now I'm starting to solicit card orders to earn enough money to buy the demo starter kit. I would like to get a lot of smooth white cardstock to use as a card base. The closest I've been able to find to the SU! cardstock is the bright white made by Wausau, sold at office supply stores. It costs less than half as much per sheet as the US white.
The Wausau cardstock is 65#, but I've also found it online in 80#. Does anyone know what the weight of the SU! cardstock is? I didn't have a sheet with me at the store yesterday to compare the thickness. Thanks!

I think that the cardstock I bought at Office Depot is 110# and it's still not quite as thick as the SU! white.
Hope that helps and that someone has the answer...I'd like to know, too!
SU cardstock is awesome! I ran out of cardstock while doing my sisters wedding invites. I was using Gold Metallic paper and Night of Navy cardstock, I needed some more quick and didn't have time to place an order so I had to run to a popular craft store to get some cardstock similiar to what I was using.
First problem...it is hard to find one color of cardstock in a package...it usually comes in a variety pack (unless it's neutral color). I finally found some navy cardstock in a package. I found some gold metallic paper too.
I got it home and the navy paper was lighter then the dark rich SU cardstock and it was alot thinner.
The gold paper looked just like the SU gold...but it was much thinner.
So plan ahead on your projects and alway go with SU cardstock. It is better!

I only read 2 pages of the thread, and agree with everyone, I love the coordination best of all! I love the way it takes a watermark!
A friend decided she had to buy some, too, because when she's CASEing my things she said they never the turn out as nice, and she knows its because of the quality of cardstock, even in layering.
Well, let's just say it's a must-have! If you're using SU inks, it's such a no-brainer to use matching cardstock. I tell my customers that even very-newbies can get an awesome result when they use the matching inks and cardstock!!
I love, love, love SU! cardstock! For years I wouldn't pay the $$$ for it, thinking it couldn't be that much better... well, let me say that while I'm willing to buy stamps from a company other than SU!, I signed up as a demo for the discount on the paper because now I won't buy anything else
When I first started stamping I bought some card stock from Michaels. The next SU order I placed I got paper and I love it. I have a bunch of the other paper just sitting there collecting dust.
SU cardstock is good. I have bought the non-colored stuff, exactly the same at a local printer for about 1/2 the price. I took in samples of the paper and they were able to match it exactly. The only one my print shop couldn't was the Ultra Smooth. I was able to get the confetti's, and others for about 6 cents a sheet. NO ONE could tell the difference when they were side by side.
The colored CS is actually made for SU and you won't find it anywhere. What I have heard negative about that is it is very hard to do quality control. You know how sometimes you get an order and it's not near the color or quality you last had? That is mainly why most companies don't do the matching CS, quality control. I got this from an ex-SU executive.
I don't think the price is too bad for the colored CS. I like that it matches inks, it does make it easier but I also like Brazill and some other specialty papers too. A little variety if you will. I will keep using SU colored CS too.
I like the card stock from SU. I did buy some assorted packs from Michaels. But of course those colors didn't quite go with the stamp pads. Now if I get an idea, I use the Michaels stock first, to see how the card might come out rather than waste the SU stock. In fact, I just purchased 1 set of each to add to what I currently have and am working on the 'specialty' stock to build up. I've made cards with the darker color and have them come out beautiful! I like the confetti stock too!!
YES! I'm a CM consultant and have tons of paper on hand, so I didn't buy the SU card stock at first. I finally broke down and bought some because I needed the color to match my ink pad, and I was hooked from then on. Of course, I still use CM for scrapping, but my cards are nothing but SU!
