SU cardstock lovers-
Has anyone else all of a sudden found a love for a color you really never noticed?
Out of the blue I'm loving Elegant Eggplant. It's beautiful with Wild Wasabi. Maybe that's an old combo....but WOW!
I've never really done much with E. Eggplant...why????
I also fell for Poppy Parade....sadly too late, as it was sold out.
Are there any colors you have rediscovered or finally "fell" for?
Why do you think it takes awhile?
I've been stamping for six years.
I feel maybe it's just taken me awhile to process all the "wonderfulness" of all the options in the stamping world! My brain can only take in just so much "pleasure."

I've just recently discovered I like using Cajun Craze. Which is interesting because I hate most oranges and I did not like Really Rust or Dusty Durango at all and I was determined that I was not going to invest in Cajun Craze either. But I got some new DP that's in the new catalog, I think it's called Comfort Cafe. The Cajun Craze in these papers is gorgeous, IMO. So now I'm loving the color and am going to order a pack of cardstock and ink pad on my next order.

Love. love, love Summer Starfruit ink! It pops with blending techniques and makes the colors around it come alive.

I'm probably the only person who absolutely loved a coral pink color that has long been retired (perhaps it was called Cameo Coral??). Loved it. So very sad that it went away....I used every sheet I ever bought of it.
Of current colors...Pink Pirouette is one of my "go to" colors and I didn't think I needed another pink when it first came out.

I tend to use one color a lot and then fall in love with a new one. I make a lot of cards a week so my infatuation can run as short as a week or it can span months, especially if there is DSP to support the love affair. LOL!
Midnight Muse is my muse right now. (couldn't resist the pun)
I reached for Elegant Eggplant and had it out and wondered why I don't use it more. I, too, love green and purple together. As the weather cools down to a breezy 89 degrees I will more likely reach for more autumnal colors.

I love it too! I have a few sheets left. I think it's the pink in it that draws me since I love pink. PTI 's Berry Sorbet is darker but a fairly close match.

I bought the Poppy Parade set from my demo on sale for $14 for the marker, re-inker, pad, and a whole new pack of the paper. I fell in love with it. One of my all time favs has to have been TAKEN WITH TEAL. I still have some, so that's good, cause I absolutely love that color!

I absolutely love the 2011-2013 in colors and will be sad to see them go. It took me a while to decide I liked poppy parade, but fortunately, I did get some before it was retired. Concord Crush was one of my all time faves, so maybe I'll take another look at Elegant Eggplant to see if that will fill the gap when I'm out of CC.
I tend to "discover" color combos that I use over and over until I'm sick of them

I adore Taken with Teal color.. I have only 2 sheets left, and am saving them for something special. I use the ink all the time. I also love Green Galore, and only have the inks remaining. I find similar colors all the time, but remember that one fondly.

Blue has always been my very favorite color, I simply adore it. One of the colors I love is Baja Breeze. My Upline gave me a couple of past idea catalogs for layout and project ideas. I saw a dsp called 'blueberry crisp' OMG it was soooo beautiful!! I don't love any of the current dsps  They are all too cutesy for me. I wish SU had given at least a couple elegant choices. {big sigh}

I know that SU, like any good company, studies trends and buying patterns. I was talking/typing to some other stamper friends and we were talking about the change in style of dsp. We're hoping that doesn't mean what we love is out of style and that SU will continue to carry designs like what's in the current catalog. We were looking through some old cattys and all of us agreed that we LOVED the following:
Current Catalog
none
(I might be able to talk myself in to 'liking' Comfort Cafe)

Beau Chateau

Blueberry Crisp
Elegant Soiree

I also love Eggplant with green! Here is a card I did almost 3 years ago with Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive, still love it, Elegant Olive Wings by fishymom - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers.
My all time favorite SU color is Cameo Coral! I was on a crafting hiatus when it retired, so I missed the opportunity stock up. I have used my last little bits and I miss it dearly! I was all set to dislike Calypso Coral as it was not my beloved Cameo Coral, but I do like it and enjoy working with it. One color that I was never into until I used it for a color challenge was Apricot Appeal. It did not become a super favorite, but I did find myself turning to it every so often. Before using it for the color challenge, I would have given it away to anyone who asked!

I agree about SU's latest batch of DSP. I only like the Christmas ones and I'm really disappointed in the Halloween paper in the Holiday catalog. The others seem really busy and some are just plain ugly.

I'm so glad you shared that about the green with Elegant Eggplant. I've got some Eggplant coming in my first demo order. I love purples and pinks!! ohhh you know what other color I am now in love with? Regal Rose. My upline lent me a few ink pads for making card sets from the Tea Shoppe set. That Rose is gorgeous! I've sewn some bags from the fabric ... Flirtatious something. Anyway it has pinks and lavendars and doilys. That rose is yummy.

It's funny that so many of you mentioned liking Cameo Coral. I absoluted hated that color and everything I made with it. I don't know why, but I just did. What's interesting however, is that I do really like the Calypso Coral now. I too, was determined not to like it, and I only cut into my first piece last week. But paired with Baja Breeze, I decided that I do like it after all, and I'm probably going to order some soon. I think there's a lot of soft colors that it will look fabulous with.

FishyMom, I love your card!! It's beautiful, and yes, the color combo is terrific! I would not have thought to pair those two together. TFS!

I have recently been in love with Melon Mambo. My daughter is older now and a lot of pale pinks are to baby. I also still love Kiwi Kiss and Craft even though they are gone. I think I should try that lighter brown...crumb cake, and see if that looks like craft.

I always find it amusing when I spot our different perspectives on crafty goodies ... well ... in so many other things as well. Personally, I never ever bought a whole package of Cameo Coral. My only pieces were from an "assortment" package that had 3 of each color from the individual color family. I never needed another sheet. All the while, a good friend of mine adored that color.

Kraft was renamed Crumb Cake- it's the same otherwise! I love it with just about all the colors- such a great neutral.

I love the Blueberry Crisp DSP too and thanks to the MDS download I purchased and my color printer I have a never-ending supply of it. Printing sheets of DSP that I cut up to use on cards made the traditional way is by far the most frequent way I use MDS.

I recently used Riding Hood Red on Christmas cards and also used Melon Mambo on something else. I had never used either and now love them both! Have bought some of the new in-colors but haven't opened the packages yet. I am sure I will soon!

If you and your friends are willing to go digital, MDS downloads are currently available for all of the papers listed above from 2011-12 and 2010-11. The Urban Garden and Bella Rose papers from Fall/Winter 2008 are also available.
The Sweet & Sour II download uses different colors than the original paper although the patterns are the same. The downloads for the others you like are exact matches to the original papers to the best of my knowledge.

There is no colour I absolutely hate but obviously there are some that are more 'go to' than others. One thing I found helpful was to make one card that included every single colour of a colour family. It sounds awful but give it a try. My very first swap, I made a 'Bold Brights' card and there were 12 colours in each family then!!! My least favourite colour family was BB at the time! It does help get you over the 'don't like/absolutely hate' colour aversion. BY the way you don't need to use every colour cardstock, use the markers or crayons for introducing the actual colour.

I used to love Taken with Teal and hated Tempted Turquoise. Now I am the opposite. I really don't like Teal and love Turquoise. I find myself grabbing that color to match my current projects time and again.

I love the old Ballet Blue, it is the prettiest blue and when mixed with a cream looks just like wedgewwod. This would be my all time favourite colour. Wish I had more of it.

I suddenly noticed purely pomegranate, of course after it retired. I was able to get a whole pack when I posted on the SU facebook page and someone offered to sell it to me.
