Which SU BG stamps are a must have?

I have a handful of the SU background stamps, but there are so many new ones, I was wondering if there are any that are "must haves". I notice a lot of people are using the flannel plaid. I also don't have the cheesecloth. Which ones from this catty are "must haves"?

parrothead 10-11-2007 12:05 PM

I use Linen alot and Weathered and Floral makes beautiful cards.

Kathy Cavanaugh 10-11-2007 12:07 PM

Canvas is still my favorite

Babsnelson 10-11-2007 12:10 PM

I'm a huge Print Pattern fan, and Paisley. I love the retired French Script, the new one just doesn't do it for me. I recently got the Sanded b/g and I'm liking that a bunch too.

yep...I like the retired French Script as well.....

3boysstampin' 10-11-2007 12:28 PM

Floral is still my favorite!

MaryTHutchinson 10-11-2007 12:40 PM

I have Canvas, Linen, Floral, Script (the original french script), print pattern. But I don't have cheesecloth, or plaid flannel or french flair. Trying to decide which ones to get of those 3.

mginker 10-11-2007 02:14 PM

I love the texture that Linen gives to plain card stock. I cut the birds out of the French Flair and mounted them seperately so that I can use other things in place of them. Cheesecloth is still one of my all time favorites - but didn't it get retired? The other one that I use often is Fine Lace.

I love the retired French Script, as well as French Flair & Crosshatch. I got some samples of the Paisley BG through Wish RAK and think that one will have to be on purchase list shortly.

Kristin Moore 10-11-2007 02:26 PM

Sanded, Linen, and Polka dot are mine right now- but I love most all of them!

Hazzzmomy 10-11-2007 02:28 PM

I am LOVING Tres Chic!!!

shannonlspears 10-11-2007 02:30 PM

ALL OF THEM!!!!

But that's just me... a proud back ground junkie!

mrs_hawkins 10-11-2007 02:41 PM

I use Canvas a lot. I have Polka Dot and Sanded on their way to me (excited)! I love what I've seen with Print Pattern, but have yet to get it myself. I had Dotted, but I didn't like anything I made with it so I traded it.

Suzy_H 10-11-2007 02:42 PM

Linen is what I use the most. I love paisley too. I want sanded like nobody's business hehe

skdeleeuw 10-11-2007 03:06 PM

I use Canvas alot. But my newest favorite is definitely Polka Dot. Used it at my last SAS and everyone loved it.

Kittypaws 10-11-2007 03:19 PM

I love the new Sanded. I also like Linen, Crosshatch, Weathered, Flannel, and the retired French Script. Like Barb, the new one doesn't move me at all.

shayles 10-11-2007 03:31 PM

I use Canvas, Linen, and Baroque the most lately - but I am still NEEDING Cheesecloth.

MikiBee 10-11-2007 03:51 PM

I really like linen, weathered and floral. I'm sorry I missed out on cheesecloth, but maybe I'll run across it somewhere. I have flannel, polka dot, sanded, posy, baroque and paisley on my wish list. lol

YouInkIt 10-12-2007 09:41 AM

Which ones are a must have? Silly! ALL of them! ;)

Seriously, I think Linen and Weathered are very versitle and add just the right touch. That being said, I use and love Print Pattern, Floral, Paisley and Polka Dot a lot, too! :D

jnsyr 02-21-2008 02:16 PM

I love them all!

I just (finally) got Word Search after wanting it since it came out--how versatile!

My favorite technique is to use Versamark for a tone-on-tone look. How about you?

tay0479 02-21-2008 02:36 PM

I have alot and the only one I don't LOVE is Paisley.

mg 02-21-2008 03:25 PM

I just don't seem to see as many cards using them. Seems like all DP and cuttlebug. I have several and wish I would see more samples.

Julie in Indy 02-21-2008 03:32 PM

Canvas is a good one.

I've always loved Script - now retired.

Paisley and Baroque are current favorites, too.

TERRORE3 02-21-2008 03:42 PM

I just ordered Tres Chic and I know I will have a ton of fun with that. I have alot of them and need to get to using them more.

willsygirl 02-21-2008 04:00 PM

Polka dots for me...love it :-)

Sarah

sln1294 02-21-2008 04:12 PM

I only have one SU background and it's French script. I love it, but I think I'm gonna get Linen or canvas next.

Kerilou 02-21-2008 04:43 PM

Sanded is my new favorite! I also have Print Pattern, and weathered which I love!! keri

airbornewife 02-21-2008 05:10 PM

I have a whole shelf of background stamps.. which I like never reach for.. and most are all now retired.. however I recently bought three new ones: Polka Dots, Riot of Petals and Pretty Petals. I must say that I don't know why I waited to get these three.. they are awesome.. especially the Polk Dots. I have used it on nearly everything I have made since I got it a week or so ago. Pam

Suzy_H 02-21-2008 05:11 PM

I use Linen all the time so I would get Canvas....

momis mama 02-21-2008 06:19 PM

i have and love...

weathered and paisley! (among others)

just got and haven't mounted or used yet... print pattern!

would like to get sanded!

um pretty much all of them!

CakeJunkie 08-14-2008 11:18 AM

If anyone has a SU "Pretty Paisley" stamp (I believe it was sold/retired in 2004) that they are willing to sell, please let me know!

LeahsCreations 08-14-2008 04:35 PM

There's an ISO forum where you can ask this question.

ddietsch 08-14-2008 04:40 PM

None! I don't want any -my kid CAN go to college next year! (tee-hee)

MaryAnnK 08-14-2008 04:55 PM

I have (and love) Floral and Aida cloth. I just ordered Stitched - I like that it's so subtle.

TeeGeeDee 08-14-2008 05:48 PM

I have such a difficult deciding that I most of the time I don't get it until it goes on the retiring list (sort of a last chance to know I can get it instead of hoping to find it FSOT).

I love Flannel Plaid, just got Weathered (had to ... it was retiring!), and I want Sanded. I also own Floral, Linen, and the current Paisley. I don't use them as often as i should but that is because they are not conveniently located (we are considering selling our house so we are packing/storing in an effort to "stage" it.)

KatieJeanne 08-14-2008 07:02 PM

I reach for Canvas more than any other.

I also like the Old French Script and Print Pattern

I have Sanded on the way . . . and I'm pretty sure that'll be a KEEPER

frankie 08-15-2008 03:58 AM

I never met a SU background that I didn't like . . . . sigh!

cullenwr 08-15-2008 07:54 AM

I often use the old Stipple Plaid BG (stamping it twice in different colors is a nice effect...just move it to the right slightly when you do the second color). Love the Canvas BG and have Sanded on my wish list (I've seen so many great cards using this BG!).

RTJmom 08-15-2008 01:24 PM

My favorites are the Floral and Fine Lace (retired)

stampwithdiane 08-15-2008 08:28 PM

I love the sanded and floral backgrounds. The Stitched and the new Bella Toile are on my wish list.
