Can't order of SU website without a demo? What's the deal?
I have always been able to order off the SU website without a demo. It's been a while since I placed an order with them and today it wouldn't let me do it. I logged in as usual and tried to check out and was told "We see you haven't selected a demonstrator." Then I was given the choice of indicating one I know or letting them find me one. I couldn't get past that straight to check out.
Is this some new thing?
Very annoying.

I was happier just buying what I wanted when I wanted and not having to have a demo send me my order and then having to pay her. It was just too complicated.

Stampin' Up! changed this a while back~ everyone has to choose a demo but while you are checking out there are a couple of boxes to check if you do not want to have contact with Stampin' Up! or the demo. If you check the box the demo will get what is referred to as a No Contact order.
The demo will be able to see your name but will not have any information about where you are or how to contact you.

The order still goes directly to you~ just like before.
I think it's a weird policy - you have to go through a demo, but you can go through some random demo who you don't know and never have to have any contact with. I can't say I get the point of it. But at least I know I can make an order on the website when I want to. And my demo is welcome to the benefits of it! ;-)!

I've always had to choose a demo for about 7 years. I never knew you could order without one. I would prefer not to also. The reason is simple. If I have a problem with an order ( yep- I got broken blocks once) they want you to tell the demo. Seriously, if I have a problem with an appliance at Sears for example would I complain to the sales clerk? It's not the clerks problem. I prefer SU handle their problems directly which they do not. I do now have a great demo so I am happy with that. SU does not deal directly with customers. I think they really need to change this policy instead of sending us their canned replies which go unanswered or unresolved.
I did place a No Contact order yesterday. I just picked one of the people who responded to this thread. If I want to order this way again, I'll probably pick someone else, so I spread the benefits around. ;-)! I don't order very much from SU but they have certain things that I do really like and need to keep in. ;-)!

You have always been able to directly call, you just don't put a demo id in when they ask for it. Calling on the phone is the best way to get a response.
I've had customers call directly instead of talking to me, so I know it can be done.
To address one thing you said, we are not sales clerks. We are independent business people who have a direct sales business through Stampin' Up! So when you have a problem, you can call us and let us handle it. Or you can go direct. Personally, I would prefer to hear about problems from the customer and then contact Stampin' Up! for them so that I am aware of these problems and can advise other customers if there is a particular problem with a product that they might want to order and I have information from talking to demonstrator support that they might not be able to get themselves. However, I do get no contact orders and can understand if people don't want contact from me.

I like the "new" change since now everyone gets the same pricing! Having the two prices was totally confusing!!!! That's the way SU works as direct sales anyway so I always thought it was odd that you could order through them and not a demo, kwim?
I do apologize if I have offended anyone. It certainly wasn't meant that way. I did have a few issues in the past. Fortunately for me now, my new demo is a fantastic lady and it's a pleasure to deal with her.
