I use the tag sheets a lot! I have lots of cards in my gallery that include a tag if you're in need of ideas... Also for scrapbook pages the large tags are nice for journaling...
I have purchased them but don't use them. When I want to use tags, I usually want 15 or so of the same thing. With the tag sheets, you get a few of the same thing and I never have what I want when I want it. I also found that the colors never matched.
I bought the rich regal tag sheets a couple years ago.... I have been hoarding them and not using them! I like them and recently after forcing myself to use some I realized that they come so that you can layer them (one is slightly bigger in the same shape as the other) and also if you need more than one or two of a certain tag from the tag sheet you can trace the negative image and cut out more... (that was kind of a "duh" moment for me!) I would say go for it.. they are fun, just don't hoard them like I have!
I have purchased the tag sheets too, Earth Elements. I think they are great, but have since purchased the large Sizzix machine, and find it easier to make my own... that way, I can have whatever colour I need.

I got the whispher white and very vanilla tag sheets with my starter kit. I have used them on some cards. They work nicely since I don't have the tag punch kit or a sizzix to make my own. I would maybe recommend them since you do like tags. I would only get 1 pack in your favorite colors (or the neutral which i recommened) and that way you don't lose a lot of money if you don't like them.
Here are my 2 cards using them: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I really like the tag sheets. I use them a LOT, and I luv using the large ones for journaling in my SB pages. They are much more convenient than making my own and make really cute accents for cards
