Chalk Pad Help

I finally broke down and bought both sets of chalk ink pads. I know I've seen plenty of discussion here on SCS about what to do with them, but I can't find it! Is there a tutorial or technique thread somewhere that can help me out? Any help is greatly appreciated... I want to try them, but can only think of dabbing on a background!
