Default Help!!

Hi, I'm new here and need help! I have just started a small(very) business stamping and selling framed baby name pictures. My problem is when I make a larger picture(opening size appr. 11' x 13 1/2") I have to add a border on one side since my background paper is only 12" x 12". One of my new customers does not want a border. What do I do! Can you get paper bigger than 12" x 12".
Thanks

Default Martha Stewart has larger paper

You can buy it at Michael's. I think it is $1.99 sheet, you might want to add an 'additional fee' to your price schedule for frames of this size.

jill656........I've never found a website that had larger than 12x12, but then again, I've not really done a search. I assume you have done a web search for the larger paper?

The other suggestion would be to see if you have a local shop in your area that does printing for businesses that may be able to sell you larger cardstock. I have a local business that gets the larger sheets and will cut them down to my specifications for the cost of the paper. Print shops may be able to order paper for you in a larger size. Retail stores like Office Depot, Office Max or Staples would not carry anything larger in their printing departments than 12x12.

Could you piece the additional you need instead of it needing to be one entire sheet? You might try that. Otherwise, you may have to tell your client that you can only work with what you can get.

These are just my suggestions, perhaps someone else may have better ones.

The first thoughts I had was also the MS paper. Or use standard 12x12 paper with strategic embellishments to hide the seams. Many local stamping/art stores have handmade papers (more expensive of course) in large sheets. The last thing I can think of is to use high quality wrapping paper in the appropriate theme/colors,

Also at Michaels and art supply stores you can find larger paper by the sheet in the fine are/drawing section. Some art supply stores will cut whatever sixe you need from a 17x22 "parent" sheet.

I agree with these suggestions. Especially about the 'strategic' embellishments! That was my first thought.

I am not absolutely positive on this but I think some of the pads of watercolor papers come in larger sizes. I have an old one with lots of different colors in it and I think it is larger than 12 X 12. Also, I have some rolled sheets of mulberry paper that is a lot larger than that too. Both would look nice as a border underneath. Some good stores carry single flat sheets of fancy wrapping paper which may also work.

Don't know if any of these would help but good luck!

Another thought is to add a wide ribbon along the inside border of the picture. May add some texture as well which I love.

I am not sure where you live but there is a store called Paper Source that carries larger size paper. I am not sure where you live so I don't know if they have a store near you, but the do have an online store. Here is the link to the 26x20 paper that they carry.
