I think stipple brushes are softer than stencil brushes. Try the stencil brush in place of a stipple brush and see how it works. I use stencil brushes with my classic ink pads to color paper I've embossed with my brass stencils, and they work great.

Thanks for your answer. I don't have either type of brush but wanted to make a card where you colored the card stock with a stipple brush. None available near by, but I can get my hands on a stencil brush. I will give it a try.
