Stipple brush vs Stencil brush

Are stipple brushes and stencil brushes the same thing? Can you use a stencil brush is place of a stipple brush if they aren't the same thing?

I think stipple brushes are softer than stencil brushes. Try the stencil brush in place of a stipple brush and see how it works. I use stencil brushes with my classic ink pads to color paper I've embossed with my brass stencils, and they work great.

Thanks for your answer. I don't have either type of brush but wanted to make a card where you colored the card stock with a stipple brush. None available near by, but I can get my hands on a stencil brush. I will give it a try.

Stencil brushes have a blunt cut to the fibers whereas stipple brushes have a contoured or multilayered cut to the bristles.
