Default sticky wood - Help!

Someone wanted to buy a set of my stamps, but just the rubber and foam part, and not the wood. So I used the microwave method to "unstick" and sent her the parts she wanted. But NOW I have 4 long blocks of very sticky wood! How do you get the adhesive off of the wood?????? Any help would be appreciated, 'cause I am thinking of using left over rubber from cutting stamps to make some long stamps. I don't want all that stickiness in between, though.

I have the same problem sort of. I just got some stamps from a friend who had mounted them without ever triming them. So I popped them in the microwave to do the same thing. Now that they are trimmed, the wood is sticky from where the extra foam was.

My DH suggested Goo Gone. I haven't tried it yet though.

I tried GooGone, but other than making the wood smell nice (!), it really didn't seem to work. Just kinda soaked into the wood.

Thumbs up cornstarch

Try cornstarch or baby powder or talcum powder! Works for me!

Why don't you just sand the sticky stuff off?

Minor hijack...I don't know who wants olive brads, but maybe she can make her own. She can touch white brads to olive craft ink and then emboss with clear EP.

Sanding your wood should take care of your problem. Use a power sander if you have one - less work.

You should be able to use lighter fluid or paint thinner. It gets the sticky stuff off my scissors just fine!

What about trying Undo? It's great for getting sticky goop off of things.

Don't forget the ever popular WD-40. It's a champ at removing adhesive price stickers!
