sticking vellum
What is the best thing to stick down vellum with and not leave it showing through?
|
Xyron!
|
I have used glue dots too and they hide pretty well.
|
If you don't want to use anything sticky, maybe an eyelet or brad would be appropriate! You could also leave the vellum "free" and punch holes in the top (through the base and the vellum) and thread ribbon through.

Scotch Brand Vellum tape works wonderfully.

I also use the vellum tape, it works great and doesn't show through. Brads and eyelets are always another option.

How about Crystal Effects?
|
I have used the Scotch vellum tape and it shows through. :( It may have been the vellum's fault, though; it was Hot Off the Press brand, and probably flimsy compared to the SU vellum.

I just purchased Elmer's spray adhesive and it works wonderful on vellum. Does not show at all. Just cover any area you don't want it on. Attached a whole sheet with it and nothing shows. Once you put it down it's there to stay.

Vellum
I have used the glue dots, vellum tape etc. with the xyron proving the better form of direct adhesion....However, I still come back to brads or eyelets to give vellum that 'finished' look
|
I use eyelets or brads.
|
The Xyron is my new favorite. I do like to add eyelets and brads to jazz it up though.

I have recently read where someone cut their vellum 1/2" larger so they scored it at 1/4" on either end (top & bottom or sides) and tucked it in behind their cardstock and put the glue there. So smart . . . I wish I came up with these brilliant ideas.

It's a machine that makes things into a sticker. I use it for Alphabits - to stick the letters on my cards. Much easier than putting a tiny bit of adhesive on a little bit of paper. |
I usually use eyelets or brads when using vellum
