Default stazon and snap stamps

I just used my snap stamps to stamp on ribbon and I can't get the stazon off the stamps...I used stazon cleaner and I cleaned the stamps immediately...I even had the cap off the cleaner before I put the stamps in the ink pad - my sweet little snap stamps are really ugly right now.

I can't buy ultra clean locally and of the 4 online shops that I like to buy from (I'm in Canada) only one used to sell ultra clean and they don't seem to anymore. I am willing to give simple green a try but I wanted to warn anyone who is thinking about using stazon on their snap stamps to "back away from the delicious-smelling ink" if you don't want ugly rubber!

Smile Do you like the smell of olive oil?

Someone on this board suggested it and it works - haven't tried it on snap stamps though.

maybe I'll give olive oil a try. Stazon is pretty oily...I know it doesn't change the way the stamp works but I hate getting them dirty...thanks for the tip!

sure! A snap stamp is a stamp that can be "snapped" onto another stamp - kind of like legos with rubber letters on the ends. They are alphabet sets that are made by Karen Foster. They come in several sizes, 1/4 inch, 1/8 inch, 1/2 inch etc. and you can snap them together to spell words and phrases so the letters are all lined up nicely. It makes it possible to stamp just about any word on the front of a card neatly and quickly.

Thanks so much for the warning! I just bought a bunch of Snap Stamps at JoAnns when they were on sale and I LOVE THEM!!! I would hate to get them dirty right away! Luckily I haven't tried Staz On yet with them. Keep us updated if you find something that works!!

I have never tried Simple Green (I hate the smell of it!) but probably any type of degreaser would work, right? Maybe Orange Clean- the odor is a little more tolerable for me.

Good luck and please keep us posted!
