Default StazOn plastic cover: keep or ditch

You know that little plastic cover that is over your stazon ink pad? I faithfully replace it after use, but I am wondering why. Does everyone else do this or do you ditch it and move on....? Let me know.

I keep mine and a little tip for making that cover not such a nuisence (sp?)...put a pop up glue dot on the middle of the extra cover and then put it over the pad and set the real cover on...now they're one for good! And it keeps your pad from drying out so quickly!

Yes, Staz-On says you should keep it, it helps keep the ink from drying out. I put a small piece of double stick tape in the lid to keep it in there permanently.

I used a strip if foam tape to attach it to the lid and then I only have 1 step to close it and don't have to get ink on my fingers.

I keep it covered and also take the extra time to put StazOn ink pads in a zip lock bag just a little bigger than the case itself. I accidentally left one open for a while, almost new pad and it was dried out in no time at all.

The extra precautions are far less money than the cost of those pads.

I never thought about attaching it to the outside lid. What a brilliant idea!

I did like Valarie and attached it with glue dots to the top of the staz on lid, so that when I pick the lid it, the plastic piece slides right onto it. works great..keeps my pads much wetter.

Yup definitely keep it! I glued it to the outside lid w/ a pop-up glue dot too - makes it WAY less messier!

I was at my LSS and saw they had done this to their personal stazon pads. I was SO impressed that I came home and did it to all my stazon and brilliance pads. Now, I don't have to fight with the plastic lid anymore.

Great idea!
If you don't have pop dots to connect the lids use the foam left over from mounting a stamp set. Put the clear cover over the stamp pad, remove the rubber side (I stuck the foam to the lid first) then put the big lid on. Perfect position/fit.

If you ''glue" it to the lid remember to always replace the lid combination as soon as you use the pad. I found out the hard way that the ink is not like the SU pads that can sit open for several minutes. They are solvent based and evaporate WAY more quickly. If you leave the little plastic lid separate you can just pop that on temporarily to keep it from evaporating so you don't want to always put the lid on as you are working.

Thumbs up keep

I was told when I started to stamp again, to keep the clear plastic lid & use it. It keeps the ink from dying too fast.

I also keep ALL my inks in plastic baggies in case the lid slips off & it has. I tried to learn to stamp about 7 years ago & gave up. I have one pad that I got than & I kept it in a baggie. It stayed good all this time. I finly reinked a couple of months ago.

I kept mine for awhile.....But got tire of having to removed it everytime I wanted to use it and then have to replace it when I was done.
So I ditched it!!
