Smile Starting a card ministry!

I'm very excited that I will be starting a card ministry at my church in September! I will have 4-5 tables set up each month, each table with a different card or theme, along with all the supplies needed to create the card. Except for the stamp and ink... I will be pre-stamping the images in an effort to save time and supplies. Those in the ministry can color the images in and then assemble the cards (I will have examples available).

Here's my dilemma... I'm fairly new to stamping and don't have a lot of stamps to choose from. If you have images that you would like to donate to the ministry, would you please PM me?

I've wanted to do a card ministry for a long time. I'd be very interested in your experiences. Hope you'll share!

I would like to know how this works as well. Do you charge for your supplies?

Thank you all for your generosity! I'm very excited to serve in this ministry. Our first "meeting" will be in September. I will post how things go, what works, and what didn't work so well.

Many blessings to you all!

Default Thank You!!

Just wanted to thank all of you that sent me images & stamps!! We had over 300 ladies attend the Women's Ministry Kick-off last night. I got to meet many ladies who were very excited about the card ministry! We will officially start the card ministry in January, and it will be held every other month.

Again, thank you all so much for your blessings and donations. A simple card can do so much in a person's life!

Default Card ministry start up

Glad to hear your card ministry start was a success. I just started my card ministry as well at my church. And thought I would share about it.

I had a really simple card for them to make and multiply. It was set up assembly line style. All the "card ministers", which is what I card the papercrafter involved in the card ministry, even applied their own creativity and using the same supplies came up with different designs.

Go here to read about our first night
http://famezo.blogspot.com/2007/10/card-ministry.html

Later they spent the rest of the evening using their own papercraft products to make cards for our box.

I have attached the flyer I used to advertise for the event.

Default Card Ministry

Hi,

We had a card club at our church and the ladies always made one extra of our swap and gave it to me to use for sending greetings from the church office. It worked well. One hint though - leave the insides blank so whoever sends them can write their own note. I used more get well and sympathy than I did birthday.

I do a card ministry at out church. Runs mostly off donations. We have a small group of ladies that I lead, and we make cards and place them in racks, for the note writing committee to use to send to people around the area on behalf of the church! Glad yours was a success!!

I have a customer at my store that does something similar only she makes all the cards herself. Leaves them in a box at church for anyone to help themselves to whatever they need, as long as they leave a donation of some sort in the box beside it, and the donations go to their mission fund. I've had it in the back of my head to start something similar at my church. Now to just find the time to get a good stock of cards put together!

Hollie, thanks so much for the link to your blog. I've been praying about doing something like this after the first of the year. Your experience made me even more excited!

I have been thinking about anonymously donating some cards to the church I grew up in.....I am still considered a member of the church even though I don't attend there (or anywhere) anymore.

Are there others who are in this situation?

I'm new to this message board and I'm addicted! I was browsing tonight and came across this thread. I'm really intrigued. I sent it on to a fellow church member and stamping buddy to see if there is any interest. Thanks to all of you for your amazing ideas.

I do something like this but I donate my cards to a nursing home for the residents to use. Some of those gals just love to get cards and send them out to their families. I also made a bunch of large bookmarks for the residents to use.
