Need opinions possibly help with We R Memory Keepers
I sent the following email to We R Memory Keepers in August and never received a response. I sent it again a couple days ago, still no response. Today I called them a and received the most chilling uncaring response I could imagine coming from a human being! Not only did she not apologize for the lack of response, she made it clear that "We don't do that". No recommendation on how or where to fix it, just "That's not a manufacturing defect so we're not going to fix it". If your product can't survive a fall from a 30" desk maybe I shouldn't have purchased it?
Email I sent in August-
Subject: I am brokenhearted - can you help?
Early last month I finally was able to purchase a Crop A Dile Corner Chomper - the pink Angle/photo style. Unfortunately I bumped the table it was on, and it fell on the floor breaking off one of the plastic jaws you open to put the corner into. I have tried to glue it back on using E6000 glue but the repair won't hold.
Is there anything else I can do? Maybe I should use a different kind of glue? If there's nothing I can do, are you able to fix it? Maybe you can put in a new set of plastic jaws. If that is necessary, how much would you charge for that?
I would hate to think that after owning it for only a month I just have to buy another one.
Sincerely,
Any thoughts or comments? Maybe I shouldn't buy We R Memory Keepers products any more? Too bad, was going to buy the Envelope Punch Board, but now I'm not sure they deserve any more of my money...

Sorry to hear about this. SU! sells the envelope punch board (though it's currently on back order) and their customer service is WAY better than that! That was a disgusting way to treat a customer.
The punch board is still a We R Memory Keepers product no matter who sells it.
I think you should call back and if you get the same person ask to speak to a manager. Explain how their lack of appropriate response has put you off their brand and you have asked for advice to this issue on a popular craft forum. Often widely read public documentation of these issues tends to yield a more appropriate response. Best of luck and let us know how it goes.
Sorry this happened. :( I would think that a punch or crop o dile would be able to withstand a fall as well. You didn't drop kick it across the floor or anything!!!! I hope someone else at the company can help you!
That's so bad! I have to chime in again and say yay for SU! customer service...I don't think they've ever said anything except, we'll ship a replacement right out to you! I wouldn't deal with any other scenario well since I've come to expect from all customer service what I get with SU! That said, I honestly would keep contacting them however and whenever you can - one thing I've realized by being in Direct Sales is that some customer service reps just aren't as nice (or as knowledgeable) as others. It's kind of like getting a 2nd opinion with a doctor! I'm sorry you're having a bad experience with them - I agree that you should not have to pay for a 2nd one out of your pocket!!!

You are so right! I normally am a more level headed-take-charge-get-it- done kinda person, but I guess their stunningly bad service threw me off. I decided to ask for opinions to see if maybe I was being too sensitive - and based on the responses - that is not the case. I can't imagine how or why they thought that kind of treatment was appropriate. I'll call back again.
Now that I think about it, maybe I should ask the same question in EVERY DARN FORUM I CAN THINK OF. I wonder if that kind of publicity is OK with them? Thanks for your thoughts...
If you only broke one of the jaws - you should still be able to use it. I do , I dropped mine, but it was at least a year after I bought it. Still having one plastic jaw and using my eyes to line things up means that at least I can still use it.
I'm afraid that's no help on the poor customer service front, but don't feel you have to buy a new one just yet.

I tried that but it doesn't always cut correctly because the paper won't stay in straight. Besides, this was what I would call a not-necessesary-but-bought-for-convenience-kind-of-purchase.
Meaning if I'm going to put out that kind of money for a gadget I really could have made do without, then I want the darn thing to work properly.
Thanks for your input!
I agree...you want it to work right. And while it was damaged due to a fall, I am really surprised because I am pretty sure I have dropped mine before and it was perfectly okay. I thought they were made really well, it must have hit just right to break.- which I totally get, I had my new iphone in an otterbox defender case, it fell to my bathroom floor- not even a big fall and cracked the screen, I'm pretty sure if it can be broke.....I have done it!!!! I would call back and ask to speak to someone else.

sorry to thread jack. Did you contact otterbox? My eldest's defender case actually cracked from taking it on and off to access the ports.
