My DD has had a student teacher for the past 6 weeks & his last day is tomorrow so they are having their Christmas party before he leaves. Her regular teacher is going to be gone most of next week so Mr. Smith (the student teacher) will be their sub next week since he will now be certified. Anyway, I made a journal, a matching pen, and 10 personalized note cards for her regular teacher and I am going to send them tomorrow for the Christmas party. I thought I should send something for Mr. Smith too. I thought I would send him some personalized note cards too. They would be masculine and say "A Note from Mr. Smith". I'm going to use the leaf from All The Best. Is this a dumb idea? TIA, Kendra
I think that's a great idea. This student teacher has affected your child's life for the past six weeks and I'm sure is he looking for some validation for the job he did(not that's he's expecting a thank you, only that he's hoping he did a good job and that parents were happy). I think such a thoughtful idea would really start his new career off on a positive note. Besides, he worked side-by-side with the homeroom teacher for the past month and a half why not celebrate the holiday in the same way. Imagine if the teacher got all these gifts and he got nothing, that would be sad.
Thanks ladies. I'm just glad I thought of it before it was too late. I wasn't sure about the note card idea, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. Thanks again for your input. Kendra
And for just one more confirmation my 17 year old son came home last night and said, "Mom, our student teacher is leaving and I told my teacher that you were so good at making cards I would ask you to make him some for a gift from the class!" So even my 17 year old son had the same idea!
