Question Scrap Management

Hi there -- What do you do with the scraps of a large mass production project? I recently made 60 invitations for a friend and now have 30 pieces of a solid and 30 pieces of a print -- all the same size but not large enough to make a whole card. Do you keep these "mass scraps" and what do you do with them? Frankly, after 60 of the same card, I'm more than a little sick of the color and the DSP ;) but the frugal side of me just won't let me throw the pieces away. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Yep, I'd keep them!

For now, since you're pretty tired of them, I'd put all the solids in one bag and all the prints in another and stick them in with my other scraps. One of these days you'll want them.

OOH.
I just had an idea. I know you're sick of them, but would it be possible to use them as layers or as part of a thank you note? I don't know what type of event this invitation is for, but if it's for something that your friend will need thank you notes for, that might be a really nice way to use all those scraps.

I may have just made a whole lot more work for you...sorry!!!

Yes I keep mine. I actually use them up. I go there first for my layers before going to full sheets.
If they are smaller than 2x2 then I usually get rid of them then,

Just sock them away somewhere. You will want them sooner or later.

Default my new scrap organization

I used to store my scraps in several ziplock bags but I found that I wasn't using them very often because it was hard to see what I had and hard to keep them organized.

Now I store them in plastic 12 x 12 drawers that I keep in the closet of my craft studio. I have a drawer for each SU color family (soft subtles, earth elements, neutrals, dsp, in color) and so on. I find that I am more likely to pull out my scraps first before I cut into whole sheets.

Thanks for the ideas ladies -- I never thought of ziplock bags for the volume scraps. Part of what was annoying me was that it seemed like these particular scraps were the only ones I seemed to be seeing when I opened my scrap drawers! And hello to you too, Stampinmomnh! Are you nearby?

when I have quite a bit like this, I use the cello bags like SU has in the accessories to hold scraps together, then put the it in the front of the folder / package of paper
