Stamping/ Scrapping birthday for a 6 year old

My soon to be 6 year old daughter wants to decorate "memory books" as an activity at her birthday party next month. I have been a stamper for 10 years and love to do craft projects with her. But the thought of me (and my craft deficient DH) trying to hosting/ supervising 8-10 little girls with ink and things that make a mess has me nervous. The girls are in first grade.

I already know: NO GLITTER, stickers are great, every little girl will get her own pair of specialty edge scissors, they'll be working in ready made books (and I might personalize them with their names ahead of time).

If anybody has any experience having a crafty/ paper arts type of birthday for their child I would love your advice and suggestions.

Is there a mom of one of the other girls you could have help out? Just another set of hands--she doesn't need to be crafty, just like 6 yr old girls. (Or even a favorite baby sitter)

I did a party for 8 yr olds, but because it was a holiday weekend only 4 girls came. (the gift bags and projects are in my gallery)

Also, is your craft deficient dh good with the computer? Can he print out digital pics of the girls that you take when they arrive? Also pre-printed lables for the pictures ("Birthday girl and ME" for example).

Also NO YELLOW. The darkest color will be stamped into the middle of it no matter what (though this is very fixable if you know right away). Also, do not have a stamp that needs to be stamped into two different colors.

How about a stamped background? Something where random looks just right. Ribbon and fibers are pretty clean and little girls love them!!

Also, I suggest keeping your projects simple and few. The girls will be in party mode and more than likely squirrelly/giggly. It sounds like fun!! If you and your dd has fun it will be a success.

I used die cut purses for my DD... let them stamp whatever they want on it...use a punched flower for an extra touch. super easy... and a big hit!
