Stamping Image of Great Shapes Stamps

I did some searching but would love to hear from those who have Great Shapes....how do the stamps stamp? Do you have to use light-colored ink to have an image that you stamp on top of the great shapes background show up? Or do they stamp a little lighter, like the background square in Stippled Stencils?

Has anyone colored the circles with individual markers and had them stamp well (look good without blotches)?

Thanks much!

I have this set and use it often.....but I don't think I can fully answer your question. I generally use it for outlines. Here are some examples of what I have done.

In all 3 examples.....I just outlined the shape and either colored it in, or "rock and rolled" the stamp to get an outline.
I'll have to try just stamping the whole image. My feeling would be that the image will be very solid as long as your ink pad is good and moist!
Hope that helps!!

First off, you should know, I am biased... Great Shapes is one of my ultimate, all-time favorite sets. I have done this and it turned out great! I've also used the markers to color stripes on the backgrounds, then stamp it and over stamp a different image in black. I have some pics... I will try to upload them tomorrow morning. I'll come back and let you know if I'm able to get it done.
This set, in my opinion, is a must have because it can be used in so many ways. However, it is retiring, and I'm hoping, hoping, hoping, they come out with a different set that is similar but even better.

Thanks, Jackie.
I'm interested in seeing what everybody says and can't wait to see jess_witty's uploads.

This is not really what you asked about, but I just came across this beautiful card by mytime using the kissing technique with the large rectangle.

I uploaded 6 Great Shapes cards! I believe there's at least one other one in my gallery already. Click on the artwork link in my signature line to see everything.
