Has your MIL been talking to mine? That sounds like something mine would say. She also commented that I lost my interest in quilting. No I haven't, everyone I know has a quilt. So that's why I started stamping and scrapping, for something else to do!
To send more cards than I did this year.
I am half way through my 4th ROLL of stamps this year sending cards. There are a lot of people in our church going through some very trying times, and I tried to be an encouragement.
I also sent birthday cards to my extended family (my dad's side)- over 50. I want to continue with that.
I mail at least 95% of the cards I make, I do keep a select few as samples for FUNshops.

Crafty Goals for 2009:
*Make 25 cards a month for cardsforheroes.org
*Use my stencils at least once a month for dry or wet embossing.
*Make Birthday and Regular Calendars (I have been trying to do as gifts for the last couple of years.)
*Use what I have first and keep things organized.
*To alter or papercraft other than cards.
I am sure there will be more but this a good start.
As much as I enjoy reading all the stamping boards and blogs I really need to spend less time doing that and instead create more! I need to use up my stash and I'd like to do some of the challenges (I should post a number , 2-3 a week?).....I know that once I get on a roll with that I'll feel good that I am using my supplies and having fun. I need to keep my stamping room more organized and less cluttered (note: I can't say clutter free..that's an impossible goal right now)..I'd like to make cards for one of the groups that sends them to service men and women. I'd like to do some of the cute Christmas goodies and gift cards early in the year so I have them ready for December instead of doing them at the last minute. (I have been good about getting my cards done early in the last couple of years)...Oh, and if I could lose 25 # that would be great, too (my stash must weigh at least that much..LOL)
My goal is to learn new techniques. I want to learn how to brayer my bg like Zindorf. I know I could not reach her awsome status but I want to learn. I need to organize my room. I have a wonderful scrap room but needs organization. I want to build up my stash. I try to make at least 2 of all my cards so I have a good stash. Spend less...sure. Like so many others I want the latest and greatest. But the main thing is to continue to have fun stamping!
2. Participate in color/sketch challenges on SCS WEEKLY!!!
3. Start Christmas cards earlier
4. Build up my stash (by doing #2)
I sincerely wish everyone (including me) luck......Let's check in with each other periodically to see how we are doing.
Happy Holidays everyone....stay safe and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!11
Okay - Item #1 is 1/2 complete!
I finished over the weekend - put away all the stuff that was out from making Christmas cards and tags. Then I emptied all the bags of new stuff from the past few weeks. I still have to organize all my stamps....but it is now cleaned up enough that I can stamp comfortably.
Just found out that we are only working a half day on Wednesday - so I'm going to start stamping then....we have no plans for Thursday and Friday - so after the Rose Bowl parade...I'm going to head down to the craft area.
I want to start doing some of the weekly challenges here....I'm thinking 2 - 3 a week (a current one and an old one from the color challenge and the layout challenge)...so that should be at least 4 cards per week, right??????
This should help my 'stamp to spend' goals too!!!!!
I want/need to cut down my craft spending to just making the minimums on my SU. I spend way too much and I already have so much. I think I have every nestie made now and stamps..yikes...way too many have not seen ink yet and that is going to change. I too need to look in my stamp room for new stuff to use because there is so much (especially paper) that is sitting there just waiting to be discovered and USED. Thanks for this thread. It seems like once you put something in writing you are more apt to do it.
Blessings.

so far i have on my 'stamping goal 2009' list
* 10 christmas cards /month (use some, give some)
* 5 gift tags or GC holders for christmas /month (use some, give some)
* 5 teacher cards /month (niece is a teacher, i try to get her 2 sets of 20)
* 5 birthday cards /month (use some, give some)
* do valentine's cards/gifts/projects in january
* do easter cards in february
* invites & party decor for my daughters 'sweet 16' b-day party in march
* pick an unloved set and LOVE it again
MOST IMPORTANTLY... clean my rubber room!
i think i am going to make a calendar specifically for my paper crafting projects! guess i need to get on that pretty soon.
1) Write out list of goals (I always feel more accomplished when I can immediately cross something off the list, so yes, sadly, I begin EVERY
list this way)
2) Stay AHEAD of cards for occassions for family & friends
3) Create a card file to help me accomplish goal #2
4) Recite my new mantra DAILY and LIVE IT: "Life is short... so use the 'good stuff'". (I want to overcome my tendency to hoard pretty papers and embellishments in fear that once I use them they will be "gone").
5) Use more of my unused sets - I have lucky enough to blessed with lots of pretty sets that I haven't used because once I do they won't be "new" (why do I elevate the fact that a set is "new"?) - what good is a "new" set if it goes unused? DUH!
6) Use more of my unused tools as well.
7) START SCRAPBOOKING! I have the books, photos, and layouts in my heads - time to actually CREATE something!
Get a lightbox and improve my photography skills so I can post more creations and be proud of the quality of the photos.
9) Start a blog? (I'd like to, so maybe I can be considered to join a Design Team some day).
10) Clean up immeidately after stamping so my space stays clear and beckons me to stamp more often.
11) Get up the courage to submit some creations to magazines for publishing.
Goals for 2008 that have been accomplished:
1) Organize craft room (THE PRIDE AND RELIEF THAT I FEEL THAT THIS IS FINALLY DONE! Took me MONTHS because I am so indecisive)
2) Start a gallery on SCS (I don't have much in there, but every journey begins with the first step right?) ;)
Best of luck to all for a happy, healthy and creative 209 filled with lots of love and joy and crafting goodies!

I am sure there will be more but this a good start.
1. Deplete my scrap bags by 3/4's.
2. Clean and reorganize my stamp room, yet AGAIN!
3. Do a better job with my blog and beef it up some by learning how to do some of that cool stuff I need to add.

I have to make mine quite simple as I didn't meet my goal last year of using what I had before I bought new stuff (I signed up to be a SU demo so how could I? LOL)
So this year my goals are to do all of the challenges past and present for the color, sketch and featured stampers challenges. I did make a start on some of them but got too far behind.
Another one is to send out some of my cards to various charities for them to sell so I don't have so many cluttering my room. Also give some away to friends and family to use.
Another is to use my cuttlebug embossing folders more as I feel I don't use them as much as I should considering how many I have! Need to add a bit more texture to my cards.
My final goal is to participate in more swaps to use up some of my stash. I got really into these towards the end of the year, so need to keep that going.
I think these are far more achievable than trying to not buy things! I know when there's something new I want I have to have it, but I do only buy the things I will use - I don't have a bind-it-all or cricut or scor-pal (have an alternative for that already that I don't really use). There's no other really big purchases that I want atm, just stamps and ribbons and card/papers really, which I know I WILL use.
No new spending on stamping/scrapbooking products with the minor exception of adhesive refills etc.
Take my time and use techniques/products that I normally would not use in my cardmaking/scrapbooking
Take time everyweek for personal crafting to nourish my creative soul.
Send more cards just for the hect of it to keep in touch with a personal flair
Happy New Year!

So glad to hear most everyone has WAY to much stuff.....thought I had a serious addiction.
My Goals -
1. Complete more partially finished projects
2. Post more
3. Be prepared for upcoming holidays. I always seem to be a stamping madwoman 2 weeks before a holiday I want to send cards out.
4. Watch my spending more...... that'll probably last until the new SU catty comes out...
5. Try more techniques

1. Have birthday cards ready to go and actually send them on time.
2. Complete 2008 scrapbook for each child.
3. Learn how to use the Cricut at the local scrapbook store.
4. Make "baby" gift tags to have on hand for showers.
5. Make more sympathy cards. Unfortunately, I go through these way too often.
I spent today cleaning my Stamping Area setting aside a big box of stamps/stamp sets that I will put on e-bay and bring to our local used stamp sales.
1. My goal for 2009 is to set a budget. I tried to do this last year but it didn't last long. Now that I see how many stamps I have never used I need to first use the sets I haven't touched yet.
2. I did my Christmas cards in June and July the past 2 years so I have my Christmas card goal mastered.
3. I send most of my cards to my daughter in the Airforce overseas. I want to send her 3 cards a week.

Stamping Goals for 2009 - Start earlier creating and producing my donation of cards to fund raising events so I'm not scurring around trying to finish 80 cards in 7 days!!! Stressful when I work full time, cook, nurse duties, clean and so on and so on - you know what I mean.
Paper Craft Goals for 2009 - Produce more scrapbook pages in my daughter's scrapbook (she's 30). Purchase a few scrapbook magazines for ideas.
I hope to increase my inventory of Nestabilities and slow down purchasing so many stamps. I have stamp sets I bought in 2004 that I haven't used yes so I probably should rummage through them this summer and see what I haven't used for awhile.
1. Now that it's organized, keep my stamp area CLEAN.
2. Use up some of my patterned paper before buying more. (It's bursting out of my Cropper Hopper vertical storage. When I am able to fit it all nicely in the box, I will allow myself to buy more.)
3. Get a card published.
Just a tip for everyone: I've always found it helpful to set SPECIFIC goals. For example, I will spend $50 a month on supplies versus telling yourself I'll spend less. Spending less could mean 1 penny less--an easy way to cheat and/or not make much progress. ;)
See my example above with my patterned paper goal.

Goals:
1. to use every stamp set/group I own on something this year
2. to use up my scrap box
3. to invent more punchy critters ( I love my punchy sock monkey)
4. to finish DS2 scrapbook(s) and begin on DS1--I'm doing my 4 kids in reverse order--youngest is 21
5. to do at least 2 swaps per month
6. to stamp/papercraft at least 3 times a week
7. to cut spending in half from 2008- half of $4000
8. to help my daughters learn techniques for their card making
9. to send cards for any and every reason to lots of folks
10. to have fun and take delight in being able to create

Card Sketch Challenge 1-227 done only 396+ to go to be caught up!!!!!
stamp with versamark or some kind of craft ink, add embossing powder and heat. BAM!
nice shiny, raised image!
hope this helps!
I was actually speaking of the paste that you can use with the stencils. The paste is usually white but it does come in other colors. It has been awhile since I have used it. I believe people have moved on to heat embossing as it is much quicker.
- Get some new cute single stamps to make cute cards with
- Make at least 4 cards a week and post them on my blog too (recently I've been pretty good about this already)
- Make sets of cards to sell on etsy, so I have a reason and money to buy more stuff
-Sending some cards off for publications.
- Get more cuttlebug folders and nesties (I just got a machine not too long ago, so I don't have a lot of these things to play with yet)
I have made myself a goal to send cards to a home for the mentally challenged adults who are without family. It is a group facility not far from our town. It is a relic left from the days when children born with mental retardation were placed there by their parents at the urging of the medical staff.
Now these children are in their late 60's and 70's and it broke my heart when I heard how thrilled they were with a batch of Christmas cards. I am going to try to make a bunch before I head back to teach so I can make some Valentine's Day cards. It is 80 folks but I just feel like it is so worthy.
All other cards are taking a back seat to this project.
I did make about 50 christmas gift tags that I put in my wrapping paper box tonight so that I will have that done for next Christmas.
-I'm going to set a budget (thanks Stampin Annie!) of $40 per month. I have lots of stuff that I didn't use because it WAS the new good stuff, well now it is the OLD good stuff...but I'm going to use it!
-learn how to make cardmaker kinda cards, not scrapbooker kinda cards (hope it makes sense...lol)
-sign up for two weekly challenges and one swap per month
-stop lurking and contribute more...but not too much I need to craft more lol!
-try a new technique at least a couple of times a month (that will be easy because I haven't tried any...lol)
-make a card stash so I don't have to scramble...I REALLY hate that about myself :(
I was actually speaking of the paste that you can use with the stencils. The paste is usually white but it does come in other colors. It has been awhile since I have used it. I believe people have moved on to heat embossing as it is much quicker.
Texture paste And just mix a little bit of paint with it to get the clours you want. Great stuff, it is.
I have been a caregiver so much in the last 2yr.s for family that has needed me that my stamping has gone down hill, everyone is doing better at this time so my goals must be open for change.
1. Stamp at least 2 cards a week, no last min. stamping.
2. Stay ahead on my tray guild cards. (local hospital).
3. Make 5 Christmas cards a month.
4. Start crafts early for next Christmas. I looked like a mad women trying to
get things done this year.
5. Use the things i have! Buy less! Ya right!
6. Work on Zindorf style.
7. Do at least one challenge a week.
8. HAVE FUN STAMPING!! This is my release.
