xiunyuki 12-09-2008 07:57 PM

Mine is to use up all my stash before buying new stuff, which has been really hard for me to do. I have so much PP, stamps, embellishments that have never been touched since the beginning of this year! *gasp* don't tell my hubby that! lol...but everywhere I look, there's always new & better things out there and my mind goes, I have to have that now! tsk, tsk...

glitterdovefairy 12-09-2008 09:28 PM

My goal is to scrapbook atleast half of the photos in my current pile. *crosses fingers*

putri 12-09-2008 09:48 PM

Not just stamping... but paper craft goal: Use what I have.
I bought so much this year... I have lotsa lotsa lotsa paper.

lnl96 12-09-2008 09:50 PM

My goals are:
  1. To finally have a fully functional crafting area (we've been moving around a lot the last few years, but after February we should be in a more permanent location).
  2. Broaden my scope beyond just cardmaking. I want to try some mini albums and home decor items; I guess I want to do more generalized "papercrafting", instead of limiting myself to the "practicalness" and functionality of cards, KWIM?
  3. Not really stamping related, but I want to learn how to use a sewing machine. I've got some sewing projects I'm dying to try!

scrappinpurplefrog 12-09-2008 09:53 PM

My scrapbooking goal is my top priority this year: get all the journaling caught up.

Other goals:
Stop shopping. If I spent all the time I spend shopping online actually doing I'd probably have a much much shorter to do list. So, I'm going to stop online shopping unless I NEED (as in actually need it to finish a project) something.
Use up what I have, especially cardstock and pattered paper, stickers, eyelets, and brads.
Stop thinking of new projects that cause me to get further behind on the regular stuff.

missiowa81 12-09-2008 10:00 PM

I'd like to stick to my Christmas card challenge of 5 per month, starting in January, so that by November I have enough to send out.

I need to get into the habit of creating cards in advance and having a stash on hand so that I can quickly mail a sympathy, get well, thank you, or thinking of you card. I should also make birthday cards further in advance instead of procrastinating.

I'd like to keep trying new techniques and I'd like to participate in more of the challenges, but within reason. I don't have the space or budget to be buying a bunch of new supplies each week. Unless it's something with multiple uses or something I think I'll use again (and use frequently), I won't buy a gadget or materials for the sole purpose of doing one challenge.

Mom2AngelJocelyn 12-09-2008 11:37 PM

Hmmmm I really should set up a goal....

1. Spend less each month on SU products
2. get a photobox for each
1. birthday cards
2. wedding/anniversary
3. mothers day/fathers day
4. Get well
5. Sympathy
6. Just Because
and then a Photo box for Cards i recieve from swaps

3. Try to make at least 3 cards a week (get my stash stocked up)
4. Learn New Techniques

My fiance told me "Ya know if u stopped making cards how much money you would have" Im not stopping

jayescarfts 12-10-2008 01:35 AM

I would like to give more cards this coming year and do more crafting

nancystamps 12-10-2008 02:25 AM

1. Re-organize my stamp area in my basement.
2. Keep my stamp table CLEAN!

tay0479 12-10-2008 03:57 AM

my goals are:

make the space i have more functional

send out more raks

catch up on my scrapbooking (three years behind)

not spend as much on supplies

Joan B 12-10-2008 04:04 AM

to relax and have fun with it!

jackie1 12-10-2008 04:23 AM

I will be starting some of the challenges on SCS starting January 1st and I want to start from the beginning until I get up todate on the three that I have chosen Technique, Color and Sketch, I can combine a few of them but I want to do each seperatly if I can. Doing the challenges will increase my stash so I have already made cards on hand. I want to make Christmas cards starting in January as well so that I am not rushing to make them last minute. I will try scrapbooking in the new year as well. And my big thing is to stay within my budget each month. Thanks for starting this thread it is interesting to see what others have in mind to do over the next year, and this way we can help each other stick to there plans.

carolc1027 12-10-2008 04:49 AM

My goals for 2009:

1. Organzie craft area in basement

2. Participate in color/sketch challenges on SCS WEEKLY!!!

3. Start Christmas cards earlier

4. Build up my stash (by doing #2)

I sincerely wish everyone (including me) luck......Let's check in with each other periodically to see how we are doing.

Happy Holidays everyone....stay safe and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!11

PandaGirl 12-10-2008 04:51 AM

I have a few paper crafting goals for 2009:

1. Get back into stamping! I started scrapbooking and stopped making cards, but I really miss it.
2. Start sending out cards to friends/family occasionally.
3. Donate cards! This way I can make them and not feel bad that I have no purpose for them- someone else does!
4. Make more time for scrapping. I loooooove scrapbooking, I just need to get into the habit of making more time for it.
5. Invest the small amount of time and money required to get all my stuff organized. I have been thinking for month about how I want to organized stuff on an off, but haven't just done it. It won't cost all that much or take all that much time (I don't keep a huge stash), I just need to do it!

I've already started on these goals, and I'm excited to start seeing some results!

Perfect, Joan!!! Sometimes this is the hardest thing to do . . . and something I keep reminding myself!

ellesart 12-10-2008 05:29 AM

My primary goal is to get back into scrapbooking. I have boxes and boxes of photos that need to be organized and put into scrapbooks.

My other goal is to branch out into more creative techniques and projects. I enjoy collage and want to get more "artsy" with my projects.

jody5gray 12-10-2008 05:43 AM

hmm goals

We just moved from fl to tx. We also cleaned out a storage unit we have had for 4 years. I have found out I don't need to buy a thing for a long, long, long time. maybe lol.

1. No new paper unless a particular color is needed to finish a project. Embellishments don't count. hehe

2. Spend time scraping with my kids. We have done it a couple of times and had a lot of fun. It's interesting how 3 people can go to the same place and find different things to write about.

3. Catch up on scrapbook pages.

4. Finish christmas stocking for my 7 & 3 yr old. In my defense I did have one done for the 7 yr old in the storage unit. But he says it's to girly for him(has eeyore on it). Started one for the princess(3yr) but then they came out with cinderelly. So doesn't take too much guessing why it was changed.lol

5. Finish one "ufo" a month wether it be a blanket, bead project, cross stitch project. Have one cross-stitch project I have been working on for 18 months. MIL looked at everything I have says I have enough stuff to do to last me 5 yrs. She's probably right.

carospoon 12-10-2008 07:13 AM

Wow, what a great question! My goals are:

1) Definitely build up my "stash" I'm constantly making cards at the last minute so this would help me tremendously.

2) Participate in sketch challenges on SCS

3) Scrapbook my pics from 2008 - that may take awhile!

I think I better stop there so I can actually reach some of these goals!!

stitchinstampin 12-10-2008 07:14 AM

great goals....love to hear more

Lori

ldsk34 12-10-2008 08:29 AM

This has been fun, thanks for starting this post.

1. To post more art work!! Meaning find the time to do more!
2. Find a paper source (1) that has match's my CTMH inks. (I don't want a white core paper for my foundation) (this is really driving me CRAZY!!!)
3. Post on my blog more
4. Get more familiar with my camera to take better pictures of my art work
5. Organize my BD card list @ the first of the year and actually make the cards for them!!!
6. Definitely beef up the scrapbooking! It's been neglected with all my card making.
7. Break out the sewing machine and sew on my cards.
8. Enjoy all the crafting I do, because I am going to do more!!!!

I have got to stop!!! My goals are endless!

babydal57 12-10-2008 08:39 AM

Short and sweet....

Craft more; buy less. :D

Amen! LOL!

BUT I will add, organization to what Joan said too, lol!

Crafty Math Chick 12-10-2008 09:48 AM

CMC's Stamping Goal's for 2009:

1) Write out list of goals (I always feel more accomplished when I can immediately cross something off the list, so yes, sadly, I begin EVERY
list this way)

2) Stay AHEAD of cards for occassions for family & friends

3) Create a card file to help me accomplish goal #2

4) Recite my new mantra DAILY and LIVE IT: "Life is short... so use the 'good stuff'". (I want to overcome my tendency to hoard pretty papers and embellishments in fear that once I use them they will be "gone").

5) Use more of my unused sets - I have lucky enough to blessed with lots of pretty sets that I haven't used because once I do they won't be "new" (why do I elevate the fact that a set is "new"?) - what good is a "new" set if it goes unused? DUH!

6) Use more of my unused tools as well.

7) START SCRAPBOOKING! I have the books, photos, and layouts in my heads - time to actually CREATE something!

8) Get a lightbox and improve my photography skills so I can post more creations and be proud of the quality of the photos.

9) Start a blog? (I'd like to, so maybe I can be considered to join a Design Team some day).

10) Clean up immeidately after stamping so my space stays clear and beckons me to stamp more often.

11) Get up the courage to submit some creations to magazines for publishing.

Goals for 2008 that have been accomplished:
1) Organize craft room (THE PRIDE AND RELIEF THAT I FEEL THAT THIS IS FINALLY DONE! Took me MONTHS because I am so indecisive)
2) Start a gallery on SCS (I don't have much in there, but every journey begins with the first step right?) ;)

Best of luck to all for a happy, healthy and creative 209 filled with lots of love and joy and crafting goodies!

CMC :)

YAY!!! This is mine too!
I want to scrapbook more, too - I wobble back and forth between scrapping and cardmaking and I want to figure out how to do both more effectively. With all but one kid in school, and he'll go fall of 2009, I finally (after 10 years!) have ME time!
It's so nice to know that we'll all be enjoying crafting and can support each other along the way! Thanks, fellow SCS-ers! Y'all are the best! :-D

cmesinden 12-10-2008 10:26 AM

Paper crafting goals for 2009:

1. Find a comfy stool for my crafting area.
2. Do those final steps to create a functional work space. Not so much a money issue as a make the tough decisions on where things go, put them there, and remember I can always change it later if it doesn't work out.
3. Do the color and sketch challenges (I've been wanting to do them for years :) this is the year I start).
4. Get a functional stash built up so I am never scrambling for a card when I need one. Lets face it, I know how many birthdays and anniversaries that are coming up and those holidays come around each year like clock work, LOL. Goal 3 will hopefully lead to accomplishing this.
5. Make at least 6 main gifts for 2009.

Added: 6. Keep purchases to a minimum. I have plenty of stuff to get a good start on my goals already.

Lofty goals but they are obtainable.

loxykelly 12-10-2008 10:31 AM

Hmm I would like to complete a new scrapbook before I start school. So I have a month, lol. And it is doable because another goal is to use less pics on a scrapbook page. If you've been through my gallery I am horrible at having way too many pics on one page. Sometimes it's cute and sometimes it's just boring and I give up on adding embellies and stuff to a page. Also I want to participate in scs challenges and do more swaps. I got a jump start on that goal and have already signed up for acouple! Oh and I need to stop staring at my supplies and (out my window) and just jump into scrappin because I spend alot of time looking and thinking but not doing!

craftygirl04 12-10-2008 10:35 AM

My three goals: spend less, do more, and take interesting photos. I have so much stuff and I really need to use it up. My scrapbooking is about a year behind so I would like to get caught up. With the kids being grown and not wanting their photos taken all the time I have to find new and interesting things to photograph and scrapbook.

sparkplug17 12-10-2008 11:11 AM

1. I want to be able to take better pictures of my cards.
2. Buy only what I need, meaning when I actually run out of something and need it to finish something.
3. Use up more of my scraps!
4. Make my Christmas cards year round, so I'll be good to go next December.

Pumpkin's Mom 12-10-2008 11:38 AM

I have so many and the list grows each day.

I need to finish cutting out a space that is just for me and my crafts. Then keep it clean and organized.

I need to grow my stamp collection. I have very little, so not much to pick from when creating, but I want to do this with collections that I can use a lot, not just impulse buying, which I do a lot.

Send cards for everyone's birthdays and little special things. It is a great way to keep in contact and we have such a large family, it is tough to pick up the phone.

I would love to really sew. I just started sewing some very simple things the other night and was amazed at how easy it really was. The sewing machine has scared me.

Work on my holiday cards and calendars all year long not not rush like I am now.

Learn lots of new things and enjoy doing it. I want my crafts to be my outlet not another chore of what needs to get done.

momtooandz 12-10-2008 11:48 AM

My goal is to stamp because I enjoy it, not because 'it's someone's birthday tomorrow and there is no way I'm buying a card with all these supplies in the house'!

My other goal? Do 5 Christmas cards per month; that would get me to 60 by the end of the year, which is about as many as I need. Don't I say this every year though?

Tamschro 12-10-2008 11:54 AM

1. Not buy anything except my club commitment ($40/month),
2. Use most of the supplies I have currently
3. Finish unmounting and categorizing all my stamps
4. Make at least 4 cards a week
5. Start and complete scrapbooking my daughter's first year

craftymel 12-10-2008 11:56 AM

My goal is to

Purge.....Purge.....Purge....I have way too much stuff and am drowning in it. I must take some time to go through everything and put a bunch up for sale.

To be more selective in what I buy, to take the time to think a purchase through before I hit "submit"

And I also need to work on my "stash" of cards. I'm always throwing something together at the last minute...rarely happy with the results I might add ;)

djuseless 12-10-2008 11:59 AM

My Goals for 2009

My goals for 2009 are:

1. Keep my new craft room clean!
2. Limit my buying and start using what I already have.
3. Getting back into sending out regular Wish RAKs.
4. Use more of the wishes that I have received.
5. Scrap more.
6. Get involved with a design team!

LateBlossom 12-10-2008 01:52 PM

I have two:

1. Try to make a card or scrapbook page with every image stamp in my inventory. This might take a few years, actually, but I like the idea of keeping track of it.

2. Scrap more. I've really ignored the scrapping this year and need to get photos a bit more organized to make it easier.

jenllo 12-10-2008 03:27 PM

My goals are to keep some type of sanity in my basement studio. Focus on all occasion cards for myself and my club members, less om embellies and more on cardstock and revisit the techniques I learned long ago. wWould like to get 1 card published sometime in 2009. My main goal is better time management. We'll see.

BabyNurse 12-10-2008 03:42 PM

I would like to actually get BD cards done and sent on time. I would like to use the paper and other supplies I have stashed up before buying anything else new. I would like to use all the stamps that have never seen an ink pad at least once. I would like to learn new things, try new techniques, get out of my white card rut. I would like to be able to recoup some of the money I sunk into jump on the bandwagon purchases. I would LOVE to get my craft room cleaned and organized so I can work in here instead of on the kitchen table, and run back and forth.

kphorse 12-10-2008 05:16 PM

Like you all, I have more than I really need!

I want to make more carefull choices on products, think before I buy and use the *good stuff* for my projects. It does no good stored in the cabinet or on a shelf.

peeps321 12-10-2008 05:51 PM

As much as I enjoy reading all the stamping boards and blogs I really need to spend less time doing that and instead create more! I need to use up my stash and I'd like to do some of the challenges (I should post a number , 2-3 a week?).....I know that once I get on a roll with that I'll feel good that I am using my supplies and having fun. I need to keep my stamping room more organized and less cluttered (note: I can't say clutter free..that's an impossible goal right now)..I'd like to make cards for one of the groups that sends them to service men and women. I'd like to do some of the cute Christmas goodies and gift cards early in the year so I have them ready for December instead of doing them at the last minute. (I have been good about getting my cards done early in the last couple of years)...Oh, and if I could lose 25 # that would be great, too (my stash must weigh at least that much..LOL)

madstamper33 12-10-2008 06:31 PM

Spend less and use what I have more. Bwaaaaaaahhhhh likes thats gonna happen.
