Stamping on coffee cups
 

Has anyone ever stamped on coffee cups? What ink do you use? Do you have to seal it with a sealer? Can you color it in?

I have never done this, but I imagine you'd have to use the Stazon ink. It would probally be very similar to stamping on the tiles. It would be harder than the tiles because of the rocking that you'd have to do to get the image on the mug. You'd probally have to color it in with sharpies or some other permanent ink...not sure about a sealer. If it wasn't sealed I don't think you could put it in the dishwasher.

My daughter did some last summer for Christmas gifts - they are not easy to do - we used staz on ink, baked them in the oven at 250 for 1 hour, used sharpies to color them in, then sprayed them with Krylon spray. We did an old cup as well - to try washing it in the dishwasher - part of the stamp washed away, so not dishwasher safe - need to handwash - maybe someone else has had better luck. If so, I would like to know.

You might try using the paints made for painting pottery? Lightly brush on with a foam brush? I used Staz on and stamped on a latte cup it has stayed on but it doesn't get washed in the dishwasher just by hand. So far, so good.

Oh I never even thought until re-reading this...you can get glass paint that is dishwasher safe if baked in the oven. Not sure how this would stamp?? But I've made some real cute wine glasses like that!
