I seem to remember a thread, somewhere, discussing the eyelets sold at Joann Fabrics. Has anyone used them? Comments? I've only used SU, but am intriqued by all the shapes and types at other places.
I have all different brands that I use (Not a demo anymore). I've not had a problem with any of them. SU seems to be a little softer, so they spread out on the back easier, but I get great results from all of them.
I tried one pack when they were on 50% off sale, and I really didn't like them. I saved a few pennies over the SU ones but I couldn't demo them, the colors weren't quite right, and they were noticeably harder to set with the tool kit. Two of the four I used split badly, so I threw the rest away.
On the topic of "other eyelets" though, I have successfully used shaped eyelets from Making Memories and I found those to be of high quality and easy to set.
I have Jo Ann that I got on the double clearance one day. I'm going to try them with the stampin up eyelet setter and see if they do better. With my making memories eyelet setter, the shaft collapsed to the side, causing the entire eyelet to be warped and the front came out looking like a kind of twisted smile rather than a circle. If the stampin up eyelet setter does a better job with them, I'll let you all know, but my stampin up eyelet setter won't come in the mail for another week and a half because I can't send in the order until Friday.
