Stampin up Vintage ink refills
 

ok, so there are some vintage ink refills on the stampin up website. I ordered 2 of them, but not sure why. I didn't even know they had these items in the book as I never seen them. So my question is what do I do with them? I have no ink pads for them.

I may not use the right terminology . . . so I hope what I am going to try to explain makes sense. Those inks are dye-based inks instead of water based inks so they are similar to many of the tim holtz line of inks. I LOVE them and snatched up a couple of each refill. I use them in mixed media projects. You can also buy blank foam pads and make your own ink pad if you wish. I use them with a sponge to distress the edge of items too. they were only sold one year in the big catalog as part of a distressing kit. HTH.

They were the tiny little pads in the distressing kit so I'd get some uninked ones and make your own. :)

You can also try the baby wipe ink pad technique and I saw a cool marble technique with reinkers.

Thank you for the ideas. I wasn't sure what to do with them. I only have one distressed ink pad from tim holtz and not even sure what you use it for and what it is suppose to actually look like when you do use it.

It's used to make your project look more worn or older. It's not really for use with stamps.
