Stampin' Up!'s Reply to My Email Regarding In Color Markers mentioned on Back Index
Hello Everyone! I sent an email to SU! a few days ago regarding the listing of In Color Craft Pads and markers in the supply index found in the back of the new catalog. Here is what they replied to me:
Dear Jeannie,

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the project recipes that are listed
in the back of the 2006-2007 Idea Book & Catalog. We apologize that we
have listed some incorrect information. For all of the projects that
state that we have used a Craft Stampin' Pad in one of our In Colors or
our Neutrals, please know that it should say that we used a Classic
Stampin' Pad. We are sorry for any confusion that this may have caused.

Additionally, on project 185B we did not use a Marigold Stampin'
Marker, as markers are not available in our In Colors. Please know that to
achieve this look, we stamped the entire image in our Marigold Morning
Classic Stampin' Pad. Once inked, we wiped off the ink from all of the
circles, except the two that are shown in Marigold Morning. Next, we
inked the top two rows of circles using a Not Quite Navy Stampin' Write
Marker and the circles shown in red, with a Real Red Stampin' Write

On project 198A, we did not use a Cool Caribbean Stampin' Write Marker,
as one if not available. Instead, we used the Cool Caribbean Classic
Stampin' Pad.

At this time, we do not have plans to release Craft Stampin' Pads or
Stampin' Write Markers for our new In Line Colors. Please know that we
have forwarded your request for these items to the correct department
for review.

If you would like a multi-colored image, we suggest using the Masking
Technique or a similar technique to the one mentioned above for the
project on page 185B.

If interested, you want to use a Blender Pen and a Classic Stampin'
Refill to create a "marker" which may be colored with or used in the Color
Spritzer. To do so, you will need to complete the following:

1. Apply about five drops of Classic Refill on a disposable surface.
2. Soak the tip of the Blender Pen in the pool of ink, slowly rolling
pen so the entire tip is covered in color.
3. Color on project, just as if using a marker.

Additional tip: You may want to note that one package of Blender Pens
has enough tips for all of the six In Line Colors. This way, you would
not need to clean the Blender Pen between uses (which can be done if

Again, thank you for your e-mail. We hope that you find this
information helpful. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please
feel free to contact us so that we may assist you further.

Thanks for sharing, Jeannie. I think it is cool that you were provided with alternative methods, without needing markers in In Colors.

However, this makes me wonder how many of the 'recipies' in the back of the book are incorrect.

I feel the same way. There seems to be a lot of mistakes in the catalog this year.

I looked at the samples for the projects mentioned...and there is no project at all on page 198...do you know what page they are really talking about?

I think they should have paid Jeannie to proofread the catalog! ;)

Good work!
