Default Stampin Up Pre Mounted Stamps???

Will SU ever sell stamps that are already mounted I would be willing to pay for them to mount them.....Wish they would...I have noticed my store bought stamps are so nicely cut with no ink edges getting in the way...

StampGroover - I think it is highly unlikely that SU will ever sell pre-cut stamps (except I know the ginormous "monogram" background stamps do come pre slit - I think you still have to punch it out of the rubber and mount it) - first the cost of doing it would drive the price of the sets way up and if you can believe it, there are actually a lot of SU stamper who actually prefer to trim and mount their own stamps!

Do you have the SU Craft and Rubber scissors? If not, you should definitely consider getting them. I went for a couple of years without them and I only got them as part of my kit when I became a demo, and then proceeded to kick myself for having tried to cut and mount stamps for so long with regular scissors. The CR scissors make it super easy to get even more precisely trimmed stamps than those in the store - sure you still have to take the time to do it, but I actually prefer the way I trim them to store-bought stamps now. Good luck!

I would never want premounted stamps from SU! and the reason why is that I can choose how I want the stamp mounted. Manufacturer mounted stamps are mounted where they want them, but not necessarily where I would want them.

I mount lots of stamps in the center as manufacturers would normally do them, but 2 step stamps and alphabets get mounted by me in the lower left hand corner of the block so that I can see them as I stamp and match them better.

Cheers,

If SU! sold their stamps premounted, the prices would be a lot closer to what you see at craft stores -- and those places charge $12 for ONE medium-sized stamp! Um, I'll gladly trim my own, thanks!

I also don't think that Stampin' Up! will ever go to pre-trimmed/mounted rubber. I also wouldn't want it. I never got into stamping before because I couldn't stand the thought of spending that much money on a single stamp...

However, you might talk to your demo. Some demos can be talked into trimming your sets before you get them. Especially if you are willing to pay them!

Ditto on SU! ever offering pre-mounted stamps, due to increase in costs.

I personally prefer to mount them myself as I can trim them frequently more closely than other pre-mounted brands, and I can custom mount.

Perhaps, as others have suggested, you might ask your demonstrator what she would charge to provide mounting services for you?

I am SOOOO much into mounting my rubber stamps towards the bottom of the wood block that I think I would have to remount almost everything since most stamps come centered.
Also I am a big fan of cutting apart syaings/images. In the Best of Cluck I sepreated "Just Chicken In" and the chicken image-so much easier to use that way. I also seperated one of thr sayings in Loads of Love-so much more versatile now for sure! And recently the frog in Unfrogettable with the heart-I mounted my little heart seperately from the frog (on teh other side of the crown) and it is sooo much easier to use now.

So while not my favorite thing to do-certainly a necessary part to my stamping.

I second the opinion on craft and rubber scissors. I, too, went years without them, and when I finally got them, it was an eye opener! It's like cuttin' through butta'!

Have you ever gotten a stamp from a store that was mounted crooked? Every time I try to use the stamp I have to remember "Now, do I need to tip this up in the right corner or down?" Ugh!

Sorry, but I think SU would actually lose customers if they mounted the stamps.
I LOVE mounting them myself. It gives me the freedom to mount them where adn how I want them. I find it very relaxing to sit and mount my stamps. Now I don't know how I ever did without my Kai (Craft & Rubber) scissors! I just got a pair after 3 years of using Cutter Bees. While the Cutter Bees worked pretty well, the Kai's are amazing!

Mounting stamps has become an art form all onto itself. My sister and I will mount our clients stamps for a small fee, depending on the set. They would much rather pay us to do it, which is fine by us. We like the price of the stamps at SU and would like it to stay that way. Like everyone else has said ask your demo if they would be willing to do the mounting for you.
