Stampin Up on Ebay

I think ebay is flooded right now with all the same sets. I see tons of the SAB stamps on it, and they arent going for what they were. I too see people charging way to much for shipping.

I have only bought one set on ebay. I bought soucts at play for $45 (total), I think. My son was too young to be a cub scout when it retired so I did not even give it a second look. Now that I have it, I try to use it as much as I can. My husband is a den leader so I am always using it to make little things for the kids. The stamps are stained now, my husband took them to an open house night so the new scouts could make book marks, it was a very popular craft, but next time I will stamp and they can color. Other than that, I do not really look to ebay to buy things. You can really get caught up in the auction and lose sight tf the value. For the scout set, my husband and I agreed $50 was the most we would spend. And we stuck to it! I have to say for as much as it cost, we have definetely gotten our moneys worth. It was actually the first set I used on a sb page.
I love to shop, but draw the line at spending a huge amount of money on shipping so most of the time I do not buy online!

I have gotten MANY good deals on ebay... but, overall, I prefer to buy things new from my SIL Demo. I did appreciate being able to buy some supplies cheap as I am just starting out.

I have been an avid ebayer for years and as they say, prices fluctuate. I used to buy Vera Bradley's but they cost just as much as buying them at the store now. It really depends on the demand, like everything else.

Shipping prices stop me from buying - I wanted Fashion Statements and the ebayer had the gall to ask $20 to ship to Canada. I am boycotting anyone that charges these outrageous prices to ship to Canada. I am from the US and ship TONS and KNOW that airmail to Canada is around the SAME price to ship as to the US. So yeah it is the shipping that stops me.

I haven't found ebay to be a bargain spot. Maybe it's because I don't like bidding, waiting, bidding again game. The "buy now" stuff usually has inflated pricing and shipping, IMO. I have purchased retired stamps on ebay but set my limits as to what I was willing to pay. I lost out many times before I finally won. Honestly though, I haven't used those "gems" once yet! LOL!

I agree with Tandra--return those defective items immediately! SU is very good about replacing damaged goods. I bought Headline Alphabet and didn't realize for months that the S was defective (a divet in the rubber). My consultant called SU and they immediately mailed me the replacement rubber for the S. I got it in two days.

One last thing, I bought a punch and stamp set from SU and the punch was cut with a box opener and the rubber on the stamp set has a crack in it. I could return it, but I am keeping them and hoping my next order is better. Makes me lean towards the other companies.
