NFL starts today which means my husband is glued to the tv on game days now......which also means I don't feel so guilty by hiding out in my stamp room while he's watching football.
However, it is difficult to be doing something intricate when he belts out, "GO BABY!! GO BABY!!! YEEEEAAAAAHHHHH!!!! SCCCOOORREEE!! WOOHOOO TOUCHTOWN!!"
I mean he yells it at the television. It's funny in a way but it makes me jump every time.
We are excited about NFL, today, too! My husband loves the Bucs, my DD loves the Packers, and I love it all! Now I know I can schedule stamping or a workshop on NFL days 'cause I know DH will be home.
Isn't today, too, when all the players are wearing the number of the former NFL turned miltary dude who was killed in Iraq over the summer? I think he played for AZ...Palmer?
However, it is difficult to be doing something intricate when he belts out, "GO BABY!! GO BABY!!! YEEEEAAAAAHHHHH!!!! SCCCOOORREEE!! WOOHOOO TOUCHTOWN!!"

But how much fun would it be if he yelled it while you were
stamping!!
My husband only yells at football when they lose and calls the players stupid, which then leads to a discussion by my son to Daddy saying," 'tupid it isn't very nice, Daddy!"

The NFL player was Pat Tillman and he did play for Arizona but was killed in Afghanistan. What a brave and honorable man. Bless him and his family for giving the ultimate sacrifice.
Yeah!!! Women who stamp and love sports...where have you been all my life? Men think I don't know about sports but eventually come to realize I know more than them!!!! My tv is either on ESPN or the history channel!!!! Baseball, college basketball, pro football, pro basketball and then college football are my favorites...oops I forgot golf and tennis!!!
My poor Bengals lost another opener...we all have such high hopes this season...oh please not another losing season....even though we did finish 8-8 last year......(can't really call that a winning season)!!!
Hello. My name is Dawn. And I am a Chargers fan. Have been for 42 years. And I live in the middle of the "enemy" -- SF and the Bay Area! lol We Hate the Raiders! When I lived in SD we had a Raider Hater Party every year when the Raiders played in San Diego.
My boys actually did well this weekend... but it's only 1 game! I'm sure they will end up true to form... pathetic. But I love them.
Dan Fouts IS God. Junior Seau is the Son of God!
(No offense intended... I just pray to the gods of football... lol)

I'm a sports fan too!
I LOVE the PACKERS and the BREWERS.
One of these years the Brew Crew is going to surprise everyone and finish ABOVE .500.
As for the Packers, Brett needs to cut down on the interceptions and all will be well.
I LOVE FOOTBALL!!! TOday was the best! I could stamp and watch the games all day! I was bummed that the games shown her were kinda sucky. We ALWAYS get stuck with Denver/KC so I was bummed that it was the ESPN game tonight. I am pumped for the Packers game tomorrow.
Oh Michelle you tricked me! When I saw the post title I got excited! I thought "Oh good another SCer that loves sports as much as I do!" Well wahhhh! I guess I'll go back to being the lone stamper who watches the Astros and now Texans WHILE I'm stamping!
My DH and I are huge fans of Brett Farve. Last year I bought a Christopher and Banks Green Bay Packer sweater on Ebay. It was after the season so tomorrow I will be wearing it for the first time. Never thought I would get so excited but my husband's excitment is contagious!!
DH is also in a fantasy football league, so that makes it more exciting. He drafted Brett Farve, so now we have even more of a reason to cheer for Green Bay.
Ann, I grew up going to see the Astros in the Astrodome, and the Houston Oilers, too. We lived in Rosenberg growing up, and had season passes before we moved to these parts. It was sooo much fun. I love the throwback jerseys! Nolan Ryan. Joooooooseeee Crrrrrruuuuuuuzzzzzz. Earl Campbell. Love Ya Blue! We've caught a few Astros games at Minute Maid park, and really loved the experience. Which reminds me. . . I need to get a new pennant for Chandler's collection - his stuff says Enron Field .
Mike loves sports, and I'll sit and watch with him. Don't care for it unless I"m there in person, so I listen to Jim Rome, read Sports Illustrated, and make halfway educated conversation with him. He loves it!
Back to your regularly scheduled programming. . . . . I'm going to go stamp some more while I can!
In my house it's the crazy stamping mom who watches the Chicago Bears & "yells" at the TV. I don't try to stamp while I'm watching though, cause the way they have played recently, I'd ruin whatever I was trying to stamp! LOL. It's nice to know they are fellow SCSer's who are sports fanatics too.

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBAAAAAAAAAAAAL ? ? !!!!!!
I think this thread has turned into a Pro-NFL post, and I love it!
Go Patriots!! Super Bowl CHAMPS!!!!
I grew up suffering with their many past losses, but these recent superbowl wins have been Greater-Than-Great!! I live in Massachusetts, and nothing could be better than spending a Sun afternoon stampin' all day and watching Tom Brady WIN!
Also a huge Green Bay Packers Fan here. Grew up in Green Bay my whole life and all my family still lives there---we have had season tickets since the 1950's. Now I live in South Florida---home of the loser Miami Dolphins. My dh is a huge Dolphins fan, but they just annoy me. Their fans annoy me too, cuz whenever we go to a game, people walk out around halftime or the 3rd quarter, and that's even when they are winning!!! I just don't feel the fans are as supportive as they could be. You know those cheeseheads are there till the last minute of the game---and it's freezing below zero too!!!! Kiki
Oh girls! I'm feelin' the love! Whoo Hoo! So many stampers/sports fans coming out of the woodwork! For me stamping is the perfect thing to do during sports...I don't have to pay total attention until some cheering starts..then I look up! Of course last night I was glued to MLB.com listening to the Astros-Pirates game in the 10th inning! Hey! We're in a wildcard race here!
And Jenn! OMG! We have so much in common...okay , except maybe Jim Rome. I try to listen to him, but I always end up yelling at my radio. He's like the Rush Limbaugh of Sports! One week he slams someone and then the next week when they are a guest on his show he's gushing! Ugh!
Dating myself here, but when The Oilers returned from Pittsburgh and everyone went to the Astrodome for the Love Ya Blue rally...I was there!
And I root for the Packers too. Husbands family from Hattiesburg, Mississippi...home of Southern Miss!
I love to watch football I had our oldest doing all the foul calls when he was 18 months old. I would yell one out and he would do what the refs do. Everyone thought dh taught him but he would always give me the credit. He loves football too. We use to love coming home after church and kick back and watch football all day, but that went downhill after the kids came along.
