Default Stampin' on envelopes "?"

Do you stamp on your envelopes? If so, do you have to do anything to waterproof them? I have always wonderedabout this, and I am worried about my pretty envelopes running.

I never worry about the ink running because if it does, the card's going to be toasted anyways. I tend to use pigment ink, though.

Easy solution. Buy long white candles at Walmart. When your ink is dry, pull the side of the candle over the envelope with some pressure about 3 times. The whole front of your envelope or package is now sealed enough that water won't make it run.

Great idea - I am going to have to try this next time I send a stamped envelope

I always stamp my envies, and don't worry about ink running. How many times do we get wet mail, anyway?

I usually stamp my envies with a design that matches the card...never thought about it getting wet. It didn't even cross my mind but will give the candle trick a try. Thanks!

All the time if you live in Western Washington. I will have to be more careful about which kind of ink I use on envies.

i always stamp the envelope and i've never thought about the ink running until last week when i got caught in a downpour with fistful of cards- the top one did get wet and i had to take a pen out of my purse and rewrite the address so it was legible -- thanks for the candle idea annabelle i will definitely use it - i'm sure i have some old taper candles that would work.

I bet the big blocks of canning wax would work really great too if you did not have a candle!

One of my favorite mottos: "Stamp out Nude Envelopes"

I think the postal employees would enjoy it too.

I sometimes stamp on the envelopes and have ever had any problems with the ink running....I know this cause last xmas I had a bunch end up back in my box since some goomers never let me know they moved....and through the snow and rain none of the ink ran. I jsut used SU! Classics.

I use regular ink, and love to add a little something to the outside of the card.

Default Stamping Envelopes

You can also use cheap hair spray from the $1.00 store to seal your ink

Oooh, really? I guess I should start doing that. I always stamp all over the place like a background, or in the lower left corner.

I usually always stamp on my envie, unless I'm in a great hurry. It makes the card seem more complete.
