Default Re-inking a stamp

Hi...I'm just needing to re-ink a stamp pad for the first time. Is there any special way to do it?

I have never really thought about this. I just squirt it on, kinda going up and down all the way across so it is all covered. It works fine for me.

does it work the same way for craft ink? It didn't seem to soak in very quickly and I was afraid to close the pad up because the craft ink was just lying on the top of the pad.

For craft ink I ink it up diagonally then horizontally, squeezing as I go. Then I take the back of a spoon and "smoosh" (official stamping term *wink*) the ink into the pad. (HINT: I use a plastic spoon so I can throw it away.) VOILA

This "special technique" also works if your pad needs some moisture not more ink. Just add a few drops of pure glycerine (avail. at a drug store or the cake decorating section of Mike's) and 'smoosh' with a plastic spoon.

Ahhh.... nice and juicy!

I use the tip of the reinker bottle or the handle end of a butter knife to work pigment ("craft") ink into foam inkpads.
