Default It's so hot outside...

that it is a perfect day to head to the basement to get some stampin' done. It's supposed to be around 90 today...cooler than yesterday which hit mid-90's! I really wanted to get some stamping done but just didn't have the energy or the motivation...heat was unbearable so I took a nap!! LOL How is it in your neck of the woods?? Try to keep cool, everyone! Thought I'd just say hi...have a great week!

Hugs and trying to stay , Joanne

I am seriously thinking about doing the same. I just took two of my kids to swim lessons and almost passed out. It's bad enough that I have a cold, cough and fever, but being outside in 100 degree weather isn't that great either.

We were going to go to the zoo today but the heat index is supposed to be 105-115! What the heck is going on?
I think we'll go to a movie.

Not bad here today supposed to be 85 but tomorrow and wednesday are supposed to reach 95 to 100 and we are going to have humidity too on top of that. I don't remember the summers being this hot when I was a kid. You can't even really go outside.

Joanne--
I'm right there with ya (no, really--I'm in Col. Springs too!) It's just to hot to do ANYTHING!! Except of course hang in the basement and stamp! That's what I did yesterday, and after going to the gym, I'm doing the same today! When will the heat end? And 'they' say Global Warming doesn't exsist! HA!!!!
Try to stay cool everyone!

We had temperatures in the high 90's last week, but it cooled down over the weekend. Supposed to be in the mid 70's today, which sounds just perfect to me. Hope you can cool off some.

Wink

When I looked out at the thermometor, at 8:45am, this is south central Wisconsin mind you.....IT WAS 104.
It is muggy on top of it. Whew.....Everybody, stay cool and slow down. Stay hydrated. It is really easy to get heat exhaustion.

Try to avoid taking cold medicines and being out in the sun. The combination can make you get sicker instead of better.

I'm enjoying nice mild weather today. We had a small heat wave last week. Yesterday morning was cold out - everyone had a light sweater or jacket when they arrived at church. When worship time was over and we left the building we were greeted by warm sunshine. Beautiful!!

Me neither! It's noon and 96 in sunny Kansas. The high for today is supposed to be 101. YIKES! It's too hot to even go to the pool. Keep cool everyone and for those of you in temperate climates, please enjoy it for the rest of us!

It's about 100 heat index here right now. I'm staying in and stamping with the kids today. But, we may have to jump the neighbors fence and swim in their pool if they don't get home soon.

I am so jealous! I'm up here in the cold of Alaska. It's cloudy and rainy and we've been lucky to get in the upper 60's. My house is closed up and I am sitting here wondering if summer forgot about us...and it's almost Aug and the leaves will start changing soon! You gals in CO though...In a month I'm heading to the springs...moving. Guess I need to pack some shorts, huh?

Julie-You took the thoughts right out of my head.

this is only my second summer in Texas, but it seems a lot hotter this year than last year, I think. Try and stay cool everyone, and drink lots of water.

It was 100 when I came home from work (I live near St. Louis). We have really had a bad couple weeks, with very very hot, humid weather and very severe storms. At one point, 500,000 people were without power for days & days. I was lucky - I had power throughout. I'm going to hate my power bill this month, though. There is a slight breeze outside, but that just moves the hot air around. In the morning you can see the air you breathe - yuck! The weather is supposed to "break" later this week - highs only in the low 90s! Yeah, what a break! Stay cool, everybody, and drink plenty of water.

Jeez!!! the heat is impossible today and all this weekend. I went grocery shopping on Saturday afternoon and my light weight cotton pants were stucked to my legs while I was putting things in the trunk of the car.
It is practically impossible to be outside with the children these days. It is a real shame that my boys have to spend so much time indoors during the summer too!!!

We had 9 consecutive days of 100+ temps. But today and yesterday it is just in the mid-80s. I think I'm finally cooling down. :-) Good luck to all of you in the heat right now. It's no fun. Even with air conditioning, it just seems like it saps all the energy!

I'm in upstate New York (rochester) and it's in the 90's here too. Tomorrow we may possibly hit 100. Way too hot for me! My poor baby -- 11 yr old daughtr -- is at sleep-away camp for the first time! She's going to be a little puddle in the floor, poor kid!

I had errands to run with my kids and cut them short. Got home and checked the temp and heat index. It was 105 temperature with a heat index of 116. It's supposed to be hotter tomorrow. Guess I'll just be paying a really high electric bill this coming bill but I'm staying inside. Good excuse to spend time stamping. Too hot to be outside doing anything.

I grew up in Las Vegas and am very used to 110-120 degree days during the summer, but now I'm in Iowa and the humidity is KILLING me! I have been trying to figure out why I have no motivation to stamp. DH even asked if I was sick...yes, pretty pathetic. I need stamp therapy in my cool basement but have no energy to make it down the stairs, let alone figure out what I want to do once I get down there. I end up just looking at my stamps. Humidity sucks out my creative juices and just makes me sweat!! (I'm actually looking forward to shoveling snow - now that really is pathetic)

It's cooling down some now.....100 heat index right now (was up to 105 today I think) and the humidity is down to 39% from almost 50 earlier!
The heat I can take it is the humidity that I hate. I sweat as soon as I hit the outdoors!

Could really stand to have some dry hot air over this humidity anytime!

Well put another Log on the fire........My dh and I will be there soon!!!!!!

We are both cold weather lovers.
I would rather be cold than HOT! You can alway put on clothes to get warm or pile under a big thick blanket.
but when it's HOT you can't enough off!!!!

103 in Nebraska! I'm so tired of this heat. Maybe a break by Wed. Down in the 80's if we're lucky. And boy do we need rain!

I think humidity sucks!! For goodness sake this is Wisconsin not the rain forest

I live in So. TX where there is no such thing as "seasons." It's always hot and humid. We're lucky if the temp. is in the 80's. Christmas 2004 was nice because it snowed. Oh yeah, it doesn't rain too often here.

Wisconsin feels like a muggy/damp rainforest. I have to go to a wedding on Sat. and see people I have not seen in years. All year, my hair is ok (never great, but ok). Now, it is horrid. I look like the wreck of the hespress....Especially cute how it sticks strait out the back for no apparent reason!

Also from wisconsin, hot hot hot and humid! I haven't stamped much because my stamping area is on the second floor of the house and it's too hot upstairs. The AC just can't keep up with this weather, and the house is old, which doesn't help. I hope it cools down soon, as I need to stamp a wedding card.

I am originally from Rochester and still visit often as my kids and their spouses, and my darling 14 month grandson, plus our extended family and many, many friends are there. I do miss everyone but NOT the humidity and NOT the snowy winters. LOL

It has cooled off today; we got some rain last night and it's supposed to rain off and on through tomorrow. This is so much more tolerable. My dog is even more comfortable. LOL We have to think of our dears on four legs too.

Hang in there, everyone. 5-6 months from now, We'll be complaining cause it's too COLD!!

I'm going to insert a whine here....

It is 97 degrees here and the weather.com says that it feels like 102. My air conditioner broke on Saturday and the maintenence people still have not come to fix it!!! I have three kitties and they are all laying in the bathtub sweating their little puddy tat rears off, poor things!

It's too hot to stamp in my world....hehe.

You poor thing!!!!!! I might be able to survive the heat, but I wouldn't be able to survive my DH's crankiness if our AC broke!!! Came home from helping my sis move in NC this last week, and it's hotter here in Wisconsin! Crazy!! Looking cloudy out though, maybe a storm headed my way???? please please please!!!!! Heat is supposed to break tomorrow, so I'm hoping!
