Default itty bitty background stamp help

I'm not sure if I'm doing this right and I hope that someone can give me assistance.

When you stamp the entire background of a card with the itty bitty background stamps, how do you avoid overlap of the pattern and how do you make it look "even"?? Doesn't this involve a jig because I don't have one.

Thanks in advance!!

I don't worry about overlap or evenness. Because the itty bitty backgrounds are random, I just stamp them next to each other, often changing directions. I like the random look it creates. I actually don't want it to line up. Sorry if that didn't help.

I agree - I don't try to line those stamps up either. A lot of times, I stamp those images 2-3 times before re-inking so it gets a more dimensional look (with lighter and darker speckles or whatever). Then you really don't want it to line up - the more random the better.

I find the best way to use them is to ink the stamp stamp off 3x on your card turn your hand each time you stamp so you get a really random color and shape. Then when you ink the stamp again put it down and pick it up w/the side on top. keep rotating the stamp each time you ink it.

If you keep the stamp the same each time you get little squares all over the page.

It's also nice to use two colors that are close in color, mustard and carmel, pretty in pink and another light/medium pink etc. it gives more dimention to have the three values of the color from stamping off and then the two colors together.

Everyone else about covered how I use Itty Bitty's. Just wanted to say May Ray if you don't have a stamp postitioner/jig try using a picture frame. It's square in the corner and that's all you need. Go for the real thing if you find it works for you.
