Stampaway USA Convention

Just wondering if anyone else was going to the Stampaway Convention in Cincinnati on August 11. I've been emailing with DawnL and both of us are going to meet there on Saturday morning.

Tell us about it - is Stampaway a company name?

I'm making it a day trip. It's about a 2 hour drive for me. Now, that's not to say if I get tired from all that shopping . .. .. .

STAMPINGODDESS 07-08-2007 12:33 PM

I used to go there very regularly (living in Cincinnati and all) but last year I didn't find anything that really jumped out at me. I think I spent less than $20:eek:

Hey you could fly into Louisville, I'll pick you up, you can stay here with me for a few days. We'll drive over to Cincy together!

I'm thinking that's right about the time Bobby moves into the dorm :(

Jeanne S 07-08-2007 02:04 PM

Think we could talk them into changing the date?

LittleSeaOtter 07-08-2007 02:09 PM

I've been there the past three years. It is great for me, since in Columbus we don't have a local stamp store any more.

This year, I have a conflict with the date...though, when there's a will there's a way...I haven't ruled out going or not going. My hunch says, I'll probably be there.

We move Mallory in on the 15th. That's why I'm making it a day trip. You can come in earlier in the week, go with me on Saturday and fly home Monday and still be able to move him in the dorm.

Hey, do you mean there are no store? Pizzazzit(spell?) or Scrapbooks, Etc. Are they both gone? I don't get to Columbus very often but always like to stop in Pizzazzit when I get there.

CardFanatic 07-08-2007 05:44 PM

I wish I lived a little closer. 5 hours is a little long though. I guess I could stay at my MIL's and ride down with Barb.

LittleSeaOtter 07-08-2007 06:06 PM

Hey Carol...I PMed you about the stores in Columbus.

For all of you going to Stampaway, my advice would be to carpool if possible. The parking situation isn't the greatest, and the lot is generally full within the first hour of the convention on Saturday.

Well duh -- is there any reason not to! Sounds like a plan to me!!!!!

nutsymuhl 07-08-2007 07:26 PM

Aww man, I wish I wasn't on the East side of PA. That would be a 6+ hour drive for me.

Yes!! Jen.. that sounds like a good idea! How fun would that be? I just mapped it out and it's about 3.5 hours from my house. Hmmmm..
I think I'll discuss it with DH. And if you're coming along, Jen.. that will be all the more reason for him to have to approve!! ;)
(Gosh.. this does sound bad.. doesn't it?)

Barbra1224 07-09-2007 09:22 AM

Okay! I'm in!! Woohoo!! Jen.. if you want to tag along, let me know!

HeatherHolbrook 07-09-2007 09:58 AM

I think this will be the first year in many, many years that I won't make it to Stamp Away:( But if anyone has a chance to go than you should, it's always a wonderful convention!! And I recently heard Carol Duvall will be there this year! Some one mentioned parking, there are 2 lots across the street from the convention center where there used to be a hotel and a restaurant and we have always been able to park there.

Yes she is -- I just saw it on the link in the other post. The Sunday International Booth 2-5. So I suppose this thing is Saturday and Sunday?

BadSherry 07-09-2007 10:56 AM

Oh No -- Sunday International is a vendor with a booth! YES -- Carol Duvall 2-5:00!!!!!!!!

Barbra1224 07-09-2007 10:58 AM

Ooooooooooooo!!!

llasanford 07-09-2007 11:00 AM

This will be my 4th year and I just love it. Normally we (me and my mother) go up for the Friday night special preview and spend the night. Then go back over later in the morning on Saturday to pick up stuff I couldn't make up my mind on the night before. We normally get a room next door so that saves on the parking issue. I've been saving for a few months so I'm ready to spend some cash.

smile
