Stamp Storage
How does everyone store their stamps, do you keep them out on display to grab easily, or keep them in the cases?
Rebecca Soon to be SU Demo! |
Mine are currently in cases. However, we have just moved and DH installed enough shelving in my new (& bigger) scrapbook room so I am trying to decide how many and which ones to get on the shelves. I have too many to get them all out, but I am thinking the ones I use most need to be more available.

I have very limited space - our house is small. So I have them in their cases stacked up in wooden crates. The wooden crates are on their sides so the sets are easily accessible ... I want more room!!!!

Welcome to the SU family! You'll LOVE LOVE LOVE it! : )
I keep mine in a big shallow cupboard in our dining room--it is just deep enough for the longest SU cases to fit in, and I have them all stacked according to size, with a shelf for current sets that I can demo, and a shelf for retired sets and the few other companies' single stamps that I have. I've lined the inside of the doors with cork so I have kind of my own little space when the doors are open and I can easily reach things and spread them out on the table. My paper files and scrap tote and stuff like that are in the closet nearby. I call it the dining room, but let's face it, we eat in the kitchen 95% of the time, so my kids call it the stampy room : ) |
My wood mounted stamps are in a shallow drawer dresser. My unmounted stamps are in CD cases, in a CD holder from IKEA, on my desk.

All mine are unmounted. I store them in 3 ring binders.

I now have a stamp room since we just moved and I have a book shelf that I keep my current ones on (on their sides in the cases). My retired ones and non-SU ones are in an armoire. Before the move I was in a little closet and I stacked crates to create shelves to store my stamps on. Retired ones on the bottom and current ones on the top. I'm telling you I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE having my own stamp room. I am so thankful to have one. I only need to decorate the room now. (Other rooms first though) Congratulations on becoming a SU demo! I know you'll love it.

I have mine on shelves with the set name facing out to make it easy to see. I also have a notebook with copies of all the stamps/set names to look through and select, so I don't have to be pulling and looking at the actual stamps.
I also have in my notebook samples of all my punches and all my "fancy" scissors (noting the color of handles/blades to make it easier to pull them from the bucket), etc. It also helps when I go to a demo or shopping so I don't duplicate any prior purchases! |
oh, I forgot..
I also have images of all my non-SU stamps in the book. These stamps are in photo sorage boxes according to block size. On the outside of each box, I have a card stock piece taped to indicate the size of stamps inside. |
I mount mine on grafix cling and store them in CD cases. I was just running out of room...........
