Hi Stampers
It seems like I have just gotten started in card making and I find out I have a serious health issue. Am having surgey on March 20th and hope to bounce right back and be making cards. All your encoragement helped me get started.
I will be back. Keep in tough. Onrhanded
Our good thoughts on things going well for you. Can you put together some really basic card making kits. If you can't do it have someone assist you. Use some of your favorite colors that will cheer you up. Some cute or funky embellishments. Have your papers pre cut to size, ribbon too. Do your punches and stamping. Include a layout if you won't remember how to assemble. If you saw your idea on a blog or here include that info if you need to see it again. Then put everything in a ziplock bag. Find yourself a cute shopping bag to put your kits in. Include a note to remind yourself that time will pass and you will be back to your Creative Self.
I don't know what kind of surgery you are having, but good luck. It may take time but you will bounce back. Don't rush it. I had a stroke in Dec 2011 with brain surgery in May of 2012. I spent many months looking at my old magazines to keep my mind going. I am now back into scrapping and card making but at a slower pace than before. Keep us posted.
Well know there will be people here to encourage you and I will say a prayer. Hope that's ok with you. Making some kits up is a great idea! I had a major back surgery last summer and could not do any card making for a couple of months but I still got online to see what was going on. Hope everything goes well and you will be back on your feet in no time.
Awwe sorry to hear that. Keep in touch here, and I would add another way to keep inspired is Pinterest. Find some cardmakers there and follow the ones whose style you particularly love. If you aren't familiar with Pinterest....there is my new addiction Check out the DYI and Crafts section. I have more cards pinned than I have time to case!
Hi OneHanded. I am so sorry to hear you are having surgery...seems extra hard since you are one handed. I had a major back surgery last year...two surgerys one after the other during the same surgery. They did not even know if I would survive because of my heart issues but I am still here and making cards! I even started a webstore! I probably will never be able to work outside our home again due to the lasting affects of the surgeries I had but I keep busy...I would love love love to send you a card if you could PM your address to me. Hugs honey....I hope your faith can bring you through!
blessings.
You, your family and medical staff are in my thoughts and prayers. Like others have already posted, please keep us posted. Pinterest is very addicting and inspirational.

Keep your head up and take the time you need to heal! Paper will wait for you! As will we! Best wishes, healing thoughts, and patience to you. Let us know how you are doing, and just think, you will have all those challenges awaiting your ideas. Maybe you can peruse things and write down some ideas while you are recovering.
