Default Stampin Up reusing names of retired stamp sets

Is there a way here at Split Coast that when we up load our photos to make sure it's put in the correct Stampin Up stamp set gallery? Some times Stampin Up reuses stamp set names. Right now in the new Occasion gallery the stamp set "Petite Petals" name was used for a Jumbo wheel that was in the 2010/2011 catalog (retired in 2011). There are other stamp sets sharing the same name in the SU listings in the gallery.

Good question. I wonder if adding the year in brackets after the name would help? I'm sure you could request this.

We do normally try to make sure that the year of the new stamp is included in the title when it's created.
For a set in the Occasions Mini, it shouldn't currently be a problem because always the stamps in the current mini are listed separately (found in Minis and Challenges, Stampin' Up! under the main gallery dropdown list, and Occasions Mini under the sub-gallery option), and it's only when the next mini is released that sets from the current mini will be moved down into the regular A-Z listings ~ and then it will show beside the older stamp set with the same name. As a gallery mod it drives me bonkers, I wish SU wouldn't do it. But I'll add that to my list of sets with duplicate names which I try to tidy up from time to time ;-).

We do have several of those that indicate the year after them so you can tell which is which - if you find some that we haven't done that for please let me know. However, if the original set isn't in our gallery (because of low usage) then we won't indicate the year on the new one.

It's so weird that those set names get re-used!

That's surprising, but newer customers wouldn't know I suppose.

I agree that the re-use of names is weird - heck, downright confusing !! lol
