Spring Mini

Just wondering how sales are going with the Spring Mini. When we had our demo meeting there was a real lack of love for it. When I've had my parties, my customers aren't too thrilled either.

I wasn't personally that thrilled with it. I bought the Petals & Paisleys paper and the Au Chocolate paper and that's it. I've seen some cute stuff made with the stamps, but my demo/friend has them should I just want to borrow to make them. So I guess there's not really a need for me to have them.

I'm guessing there are a whole lot of demos wishing you posted this in the demo forum? Are you a member yet? If not, you should join as those demos are a lot of fun "up there" in the demo forums.

I have to admit that I haven't purchased anything from the spring mini -- yet. I have my eye on a couple of punches, some paper and some sets. The fact that it will be available for several more months is a good thing!

I have only ordered the round tab punch from the spring mini and I think that's all I'll purchase. I like the doodle sets, but they are expensive and I think the doodle thing is a trend. I'm not convinced they are mys tyle either. I'm finally learning to only get sets that I *love*. I seem not to be disapointed lately! (PS - I'm not a demo if that matters to you!)

I havent ordered as much from this mini as others, but I do like it. I am also staying away from the doodle stuff because, even though it looks nice, I think its a trend ... and the one doodle set is just too expensive to justify.

It all depends on your style...I personally don't really like the doodle look and didn't buy any of those but I have had some of my customers go ga-ga over it...

Once again it just proves that SU caters to a lot of different styles

Ditto Joan - check out joining the demo forum

Not a demo, here, but a loyal customer. I really like the spring mini and purchased a set (Office Accoutrement), the matching dp (which is fabulous!), and the spiral punch (woo-hoo!). May get more later, but I wonder if the fact that it IS good until the end of June isn't affecting people's buying. I know it made me want to spread out the spending more. I'm going to wait until the discontinued list comes out, and then decide what to spend my money on.

BTW, I didn't buy a thing from either the winter mini or holiday mini because nothing in them sang to me. JMO as a customer, but SU! is doing a great job of being all things to all people. Sometimes that means I personally don't like a mini, but that's okay. I just save the money for later, 'cause eventually, I'm know I'm gonna love something and just HAVE to have it!

Not a demo, just a major customer! Haven't ordered a thing from the Spring Mini...just didn't have much in it to appeal to me. I decided to spend my money on the Cuttlebug & bug accessories, so the money went in a different direction....first time ever that I didn't find anything to tempt me in a mini catty.

I'm not a demo...just a great customer. I just bought the two new punches...love them! The other things I like...the Canadian prices are pretty high for something I'm just going to use as a hobby. I'm waiting with excitement for the new catty!

I LOVE some things in the mini and dislike others. I do worry about the prices of the sets and HOPE that's not the new trend, I think to have too many more expensive sets in the minis really discourages people from buying them, but means the sets will be worth more in the resale market (eBay).

I have a hard time buying $39.95 sets anyway, and to have them in the mini's turns me off. It does encourage impulse buying though and I guess that's what SU wants.

That said I LOVE Crab & Co. and You Make Me Happy and the DP is pretty cool too!

I'm a customer. I love the stuff I've bought from the mini: tab punch, spiral punch, small doodle set, and a few of the small art journals.

I like a fair amount in the Spring mini. I didn't get as much in the last 2 mini's but I am happy with that because then I can stock up on SU paper, ink etc.
I'm also looking forward to seeing the retired list.

I have a question about people not wanting to buy 'the trends'. This is for Demos (I am one) and customers alike.
If you dont buy the trends, then what do you buy? Isnt everything out there at one point or another a trendy item? Im just curious, no sparks intended!
I can see if you (general) dont like the doodles they arent your style, but if you DO like doodles, but wont get them because they are a 'trend', why? Look at brads and eyelets and ribbons and Bellas and Brown and Caribbean etc. And all th evintage and swirly and Boho. These are all popular right now. If you dont go with the trends, what stuff do you use?
Is it the price point on trendy stuff?
Do I make any sense?? LOL
Thanks for your insight!

Tandra, I was wondering the same thing. Even if something is a trend, I'd buy it if I loved it. ditto stuff that isn't a trend. I figure that my family and friends, who are not stampers, will have no clue that something I'm giving them is so "last year"!!!

I bought Bunny Hugs and plan on getting the small tag punch and the jumbo Petals wheel. As much as I do really like things in the mini, I have to agree that the prices seem a little too high (I'm not a demo either).

I see what you ladies are saying about the trends ... I suppose if I looked at a set and absolutely LOVED it, I too would buy it, even if I considered it a trend ... I actually dont mind the look of doodle, but I'm not LOVING it ... kwim ... if it was a set that I REALLY loved when I looked at it, I would buy it. I do buy the trends, but this one just isnt for me I guess. Also, I cannot bring myself to buy a stamp set for $41 (Canadian) ... then shipping and taxes will bring it up to $52.00 Canadian ... it would have to be one heck of a stamp set for me to buy it ... the particular one in the book only has 4 stamps, 4 stamps for $52.00 is a lot of money ... at least in my bank account, lol.

Tandra...I am not a demo...just a customer...however, I have tried to buy sets that I know will be versatile. I think that some people think "trendy" in that if they see the paisley set in three years, they will think: "Oh yeah...remember when that was really popular way back when?" Consumers, just being consumers, I guess but you make a lot of sense!

As for the Spring mini...nothing that I have gone really crazy over and that I really, really want. I think the Crab set is cute and I might get that but that is about it. I am looking forward to the new catalog but I also hope that the prices don't go up too much. I think $39 bucks is a lot EVEN though I probably spend hundreds on all sorts of stuff. I guess it doesn't seem as much when it is listed as 14.95! I can buy two!! LOL

Trend speaking- for me it is the $$$. I *love* the office set, but am not sure I would want to pay $30 for it. I have thought about putting up a ISO, but try coming up with $30 worth of product someone else will want! I am also starting to *really* like the big blooms- (Thanks a lot Krystie Lee! check out her gallery!)
And after thinking I *had* to have the doodles, I don't use them so much, and am almost thinking of trading them!!

Money can be a factor, and just knowing that it is a trend, and it may run it's course sooner than other things will hinder me from buying. Kwim? Flowers tend to be in style a lot longer than trends!

OK, deep breath, I got tab punch, Best Bar Codes, chocolate DP, Polka dots and paisley offer, so I got Doodle This for half, don't know if I would have got it if it was full price.
I plan to get the other punch, Office Accoutrement, matching paper and maybe Big Blossoms (can't remember what it's called).

I am a demo and it is going very well on my end. My last stamp night I had 10 ladies, 8 of them bought the bundle, used the 50% off on an expensive set. Many have already told me they will be gettting both of the punches (if they did not already) before the catty expires.

I have to say that I was not as impressed with the spring mini as I was with the winter mini, from which I bought just about everything! As for trends I always seem to like the stuff that isn't "hot", and I do go for future versatility, too. I just ordered the giant flower set (can't remember the name off the top of my head) and I may order Doodle This because I do love to doodle! Other than that, I really don't like anything else. Guess there's something for everyone, eh?

I buy what I like, regardless of trends, but I tend to wait, analyze how and if I'll use the trendy stuff, and if it'll fit into my style. I've wasted so much money buying stuff I liked and then was not able to use in a way that fit my style, KWIM? The office supply thing's been around for a bit, now, and I decided to commit to it, esp. for use on scrapbook pages. Doodles do nothing for me so it's easy to just say no to them, although I adore them on other people's cards and sb pages. They just aren't me and I know that now. Three years ago, I'd have bought them all, LOL!

HTH you understand the thought process of one good customer!

From her previous posts, looks like she is a member of the demo forum. Perhaps she intended to post in demo chit-chat but did it here by mistake?
Anyways, I really like this spring mini. Cute baby set, the flower sets (which I'm always a sucker for!), and the punches are great, not to mention the paper. All in all, I've ordered once and will place another order for the other stuff on my spring mini wish list.

Default I loved the Spring Mini...

I am not a demo, just a customer. I bought nothing during Sell-a-bration as the winter one just didn't do it for me, though I wanted that big blossom stamp. Then spring came and I bought the smaller tag punch, the spiral punch, the tab punch, Office Accoutrement set, Office paper set and the chocolate paper set. Oh--and 2 of those cute mini-albums. Love it all! Variety is a good thing. What some folks love, others don't!

There are some sets I like and some I don't. I too am a very good customer, and I bought the special, but I used my half price to buy one of the sets in the back (stamps, paper, etc.). I wanted the most bang for my buck!

Honestly I think sales will pick up as it nears June - we all know we have until the end of June to get the goodies. Many of us are probably stretching our dollars and buying what has to be bought today LOL

Wondering why you wouldn't post this in Demo Chit Chat? Anyway, I LOVE the Spring Mini as do my customers. I would have an easier time telling you what I DIDN'T get out of it than what I DID! And my customers are loving it, too. The DS papers and matching stamp sets are ALL to die for, love the doodle sets, Bunny Hugs is adorable, the punches are super cool...let's see, did I miss anything? The bundle deal is awesome and my customers are scooping it up and they love all the stamp sets!

Ahhh...it's good to see the customer's side too, no harm in posting it here. Each mini caters to different tastes. Some love them, some hate them. I tend to think that the people who buy the most from them are demos...and demos best customers - this is because they keep up with the latest items coming out and have to have it. People who frequent this board likely fall into the category that would buy from the minis.

Love the punches - love the tab punch, I've used it on many things. I bought the Office Accoutrement set and matching paper as well. I wanted other things, but that already added up to enough. I have clear sets that are swirls, so I didn't see a need to buy the SU! sets.
