i thought I had replied this morning, but something was wrong with my email at work!
so rubber cement is simple. start with white card stock, and drizzle rubber cement over it. let it dry thoroughly. the area under the rubber cement will be your white space. using a brayer, brayer over starting with the lightest color you are choosing to use.

drizzle MORE rubber cement. let dry completely. brayer over the next lightest color. repeat with as many color as you want.

after your paper is completely dry, rub the rubber cement off. this is messy - so expect your finger to be stained (or as i like to say, a creative battlewound).

hope that helps!

for this, I used a piece of glossy white card stock, although I have heard you can use non coated cs as well. When it was time to peel off the rubber cement (be sure the card is dry), I used a paper towel to rub the cement, and it came right off. I have a few examples of this in my gallery and there are tons of cool examples on here as well. Hope this helps.

I think you can use different colors of cardstock too and you will get really neat results if you add cement and brayer, taking some off and brayering again and then adding more as you go.
