Default SU ink refill question

Hi guys, just a quick question about the new SU inks
Is it only the pads that have changed or the actual ink formula??
I have a couple pads ( soft suede, island indigo and cherry cobbler) that I need re-inkers for...wondering if they will work on my old pads.

Thanks

Yes, according to our resident demos and SU experts, you can use the new reinkers on the old pads. That is my understanding.

You can also use the old reinkers on the new firm foam pads with the exception of Basic Black, Basic Gray, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, and Tempting Turquoise. Those colors were reformulated for the new pads.

Here's one thread where this info is to be found:

Yes but the new pads are so great you might want to spend the little bit more and get new pads. I thought I'd keep my old pad but then I tried the new ones and they really are great and now I want to buy them all.

Here's another vote for the new pads. I'm upgrading mine gradually. The only warning... hold off on the Basic Black ink pad until SU works out the kinks. Right now the Basic Black ink smears. All in all though, I love the new ink pads. I even get really good impressions with those cheep acrylic stamps you can pick up in the dollar bins. I'm impressed. Great improvement SU!

I agree even with the cheap stamps you get a great impression. A few years back I threw away my SU black and bought a VersaFine black and I love that pad and don't think I'll ever get rid of it. It works great for all stamps.
