I was sitting in a meeting for work the other day (with some pretty big names in my school district - not a good meeting to be distracted in), and got a moment of inspiration. I had on a skirt that was a very deep chocolate/coffee plaid, a deep red sweater set and purple nail polish. While I should have been paying attention, I suddenly thought - Lovely Lilac, Chocolate Chip & Real Red! I have to try it! I did today and it looks so pretty!!
What strange places/times have you gotten inspiration?
I often look at other cards, and see if I can't tweak it with what I have. Can't say that I have gotten inspiration like you, but I am always amazed at the color combos that people come up with!! But you can't really go wrong with ChocChip and Real Red. Did you post your card?? Let's see!!!

Not yet, but I will. We went to see Blindside before I could get it done - great movie by the way!

I saw a scrub top on a nurse at work. The color combo was So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise & Chocolate chip. Still haven't used that combo, but thought it looked so pretty. I even have the stamp set in mind.

From advertisements on television. The way a room is decorated in an ad or the colors in the logo inspire me. If I just wrote them down though, I'd lose track of them. So when I have a chance, I add them to my color combo idea chart. I punch a circle from each of the colors and adhere them to my idea chart together, write the names of each color and note where I got the idea. Then when I'm stuck for something new, I refer to my chart and give one a try.
Once I was watching a House marathon on USA and had to make a card using what I interpreted the colors of the set to be....now that's strange. I also get inspired by clothing- dresses and blouses come to mind.

I worked in doctor's offices for years before I landed my dream job, and was ALWAYS inspired by the colors in medical scrub tops! Great minds think alike, right?

I actually say to people, "Your top would make a great patterned paper, do you mind lying down on the copy machine so I can have it?" I have actually said that, but joking, of course!
