Default inlaid die technique

Hello, would some one please tell me where I can find the above technique on SCS? I have seen a card made by Holstein but can't figure out how it was made. Because I have dial-up (grrrrrrr) I am unable to check out the youtube/video links on google. Thanks in advance.
Cheers, wendy

Wendy, I didn't see the technique but I'm so lousy at gluing on skinny pieces that I just did it. Cut the shape out of the paper you want. Then cut the cardstock creating the "negative". Back the card with a double sided tape. I use Sookwang since it is wide but feel free to get creative making that negative space sticky somehow. Lay in the original die cut piece. Remember you will have put back all those pieces out of the card stock cut out. If it is an intricate die, this becomes a real puzzle.

An easy way to salvage those little pieces.
Cut the original shape. Cut the negative but keep as many pieces in the die as possible. You will need all the spacer pieces. After putting the original shape into your sticky negative, carefully lay the die with the pieces still stuck in it over the top. You will then be able to poke a pin through the holes right into the spaces.

If this doesn't make sense to you since it is hard to explain on line, please feel free to PM.

This has become one of my favorite techniques and hope you enjoy it as well!

We had this as a Technique challenge a while back...
Dawn gives a good description here: TLC452~Inlay Die Cuts~{10/21/13} by TreasureOiler at Splitcoaststampers, but Nancy has described it so clearly! The only reason you might want to check the link to the TLC challenge is to be inspired by what other people created for the challenge.
I know I was a bit over-ambitious with the first die I tried it with and lost a lot of tiny bits so that I had to diecut a second one .

I'm working on a photo tutorial, but it hasn't worked into the schedule yet! Look for it in October.

I knew there would be people who would give me direction and instruction on this forum. Thank you very much. I had a try with a simple die and it worked perfectly so am going to try a more difficult one this weekend, and hope it looks amazing like Holstein's. A real neat technique!
Thanks again.
