Default Snap Stamps on sale Again

I'm probably the only one who hasn't ordered Snap Stamps yet, but they are on sale at Joann.com again and a free shipping code of AUGFSE625 on orders over $25.00. I just ordered 5 different sets and can't wait to get them.

Could someone please tell me the difference between the two fonts, formal and casual, before I order. Just the name doesn't tell me alot. Also what size is best for card front words...I was thinking maybe 1/8 or 1/4. Any suggestions would be appreciated before I order my FIRST snap stamps

I just ordered snap stamps the other day and didn't know which fonts to purchase either. Going through the gallery it seemed that most people a)use the casual font and b)use the 1/4 and 1/8 sizes. I ordered both of those to hedge my bets. It helped that they were cheaper than normal. I think the 1/4 is perfect when doing smaller words (like alongside a picture) and the 1/8 looks good for sayings. I don't know if that helps at all, but it's how I decided which ones to get.

I have the 1/8 and they are great for longer words that you want to fit in a word window or such.

I ordered the 1/8" & 1/4" Casual and Formal and also the 1/2" Casual because I didn't reach the $25.00. I think the casual is lower case and a more "rounded" font and the Formal is upper case and more of a block font.

Here is a link to the KTCrafts website that shows a picture of the stamps so you can see the difference between the casual & the formal fonts. Casual is only lower case and formal is only upper case. I have both in both in 1/4" & 1/8". The 1/8" are really tiny but work great with the word window punch.

I've been waiting for these to go on sale! And you can get 6% back, too, if you go through ebates. Yeah, baby!!

I assumed each set had a lower and upper case of each letter since the set is 52 pieces. Not the case????

Like someone said above, Casual is only lowercase, Formal is only uppercase. Yes, there are 52 stamps in each set, but that is because there are multiples of most of the letters. I think most of the vowels have 3 each, consonants are 2 each except for a few, that only have one. I have the following sets:1/2" Formal and Casual, 1/4" Formal and Casual, and 2 sets each of the 1/8" Formal and Casual. I wanted to be able to make phrases with the 1/8" ones and there just weren't enough of certain letters. I wanted to stamp "celebrate father", but only had 3 "e"'s. So I bought a second set just in case. The 1/8" makes great phrases, 1/4" makes nice single words, and 1/2" makes really nice titles for scrapbook pages. I haven't tried the 1" yet. HTH

I have the 1/4 in. casual and it works well for me. I agree that the 1/8 in. would be pretty small. But it is also true you can't say a lot with the 1/4 in size!

It is a "double" set - casual is mostly lower case with a few upper case. I have used the lower case "L" for the pronoun "i" - did not like lower case for that.
As has been pointed out in other threads, there are no numbers included in the alphabet set.

Just a warning that Joanns.com is a web site that when you order something from them you are automatically signed up to a "Shopper Discount and Rewards" program. This could be happening when you use a coupon, not sure but that's what happened to me when I used a free shipping coupon.

I did a search on the internet and found out that this is a membership service billed monthly to your VISA and MasterCard credit and debit cards. The charge appears on your bill as WLI*SHOPPERDISCOUNT 800-889-8776 CT (in the amount of $10.00). With other cards, such as Discover and American Express, the billing descriptor is shopperdiscount.com.

Shopper Discount and Rewards is owned and operated by WebLoyalty.com, Inc., which is represented on your bill as wli in the billing descriptor wli*shopperdiscount. This company is based in Norwalk, Connecticut. It develops money saving discount and guarantee programs that allow subscribers to save when they shop and travel.

You will need to call the 800 number to cancel the subscription or they will continue to bill you $10.00 each month. Now I don't know if this is a good program or not but it just made me mad that you get automatically signed up when you order from various stores online. This doesn't just happen at joanns.com so keep an eye on your statements.

Sorry, I know I went on and on but just wanted to warn everyone about this "Scam".

That may not be from Joann's. I've ordered from their site at least five times in the past year (stamps, fabric, etc.) and have not encountered this issue. And yes, I am very diligent in checking my CC statement for these types of things. Gotta be careful!

I have ordered several times from joanns.com and have never been signed up for anything like this. Some websites direct you to a customer satisfaction survey at the end of your purchase, maybe that's where it came from? I don't ever fill those out. I figure the company will know I'm satisfied when I order from them again. But I have never had any problems ordering from joanns.com. That is where I got all of my snap stamps and am very glad I did!

Dang it...I just spent over $30. And that was AFTER I brought it down from about $60! And only $5 was snap stamps. But I needed some Making Memories paints and foam stamps after playing with them at a scrap camp I went to.

Thanks for posting this! I just put in my order for the 1/8" and 1/4" Casual style. My local Joann's store doesn't carry Karen Foster snap stamps, although the manager thought a Joann's superstore might have them. With the free shipping on orders over $25, I saved gas money by ordering online! Now I'll have to start saving up for the scallop punches for next time!

The stamp itself is rubber, but it comes on a plastic mount. The mounts all snap together to form words or sayings. Each set comes with multiples of each letter so you can easily form words and stamp all the letters at the same time. They come out evenly spaced and straight, which takes me forever with regular wood mount alphabets. Attached is a pic of how I store mine. Hopefully you can see the stamps and how they "snap" together.

My LSS had them. But, that was in Kansas. If you have any local scrapbook stores, you could call and ask them if they carry them.

SassySissy--thanks for this info (see message #1. I just received a CC bill with this charge & had no idea what it was for. Naturally when I called the toll-free #it was after their business hours. Did cancel online today
I had ordered the snap stamps from Joann's online & think this other charge probably came about when I clicked on a $10 coupon next online order. Sounded good & guess I didn't read the small print.
I do like the snap stamps I ordered & do want to order the casual that were out of stock when I first ordered.
