Default Collection of Cards as Gift - Ideas?

Hi,

You know how you can buy a collection of cards for various occasions? I am making more cards than I know people for fun so decided I want to make 1 -2 dozen various cards and box them up with labels separating thank you, birthday, etc. The hard part I am having is a box to put them in. Any ideas? I wish the SU on board came in a box with lid size to fit cards plus an extra inch so the labels thank you, birthday, etc showed. Then could decorate, etc, etc.

Anyone tried this or has any ideas....?

Thank you
Lisa

By any chance do you have a scor-pal? This link has plenty of templates for boxes. Perhaps one of them would work for your project.

Scor-pal is a GREAT product and actually a member of the SCS companies. I got one and love it so much I have ordered one for my Mom for Christmas.

I found some really cute round cookie tins at World Market and I am bundling 15 cards and envelopes in each one with some clever saying about how I don't bake. A few friends are getting them on their doorsteps, delivered by an early-morning elf.

I love altering lunch tins for card sets. You can create dividers and fill er' up! Here is an example...

I also make these into recipe boxes and babies first year memory cans. HTH!!

Well, I decided to venture out to Michael's and World Market. I found 6 inch square box at Michael's but only in Christmas (I got a few) at $2.99 each. Looking for something to decorate or plain white. Found nothing at my local World Market.... each the candy and other goodies.

Anyone know where I might find the lunch tins Patty shows a link of her awesome work?

I found some 6 x 5 tins at Dollar Tree. They only come in orange and red stripe or solid orange. I used Mod Podge to adhere designer paper to the bottom and spray painted the top and glued ribbon around the edge. You can't beat the price.

You can make your own box by using SU!'s grid paper and a little math - no problem! A couple of dividers, using cardstock, and you're all set.
It just takes a little figuring out, that's all. And, inexpensive.

For the past two years I have made a set of cards for my best friend's (aunt and papercraft enabler all in one) husband. I make one card for every holiday and package them together in a PTI box. He actually requested that gift this year because he loved it so much last year--and it saved him $$ and trips to Hallmark! (Of course, he wondered why he didn't get a Gold Crown rebate this past year! LOL)

And, what is SO funny is that he crosses out my name on the back and puts his there instead. He's too funny.

She (his wife) makes cards but our styles are very different. One time he didn't have a card for something and went through her stash. When she opened the card she thought . . . this looks familiar . . .and then reallized why. He's such a fun loving guy!

What she said! I made up 3 sets of boxed monogrammed note cards: one each for 2 of my sisters and one for one of my best friends. I took them to their places of work. In 2 days, I had orders for 18 boxes. I could never have accomplished this without my Scor-Pal. Plus their website gives you so many fabulous ideas. You can adapt easily adapt their instructions to make any size box you want.

Lisa: If you go to papertreyink.com and click on packaging on the right you will see a link that says Clearly creative card boxes. These are great and they are what I use for my gifts all the time. I make packages of 12 all ocassion cards and they sell a pack of 10 of these clear boxes specially made for A2 cards for only $6 which is only .60 cents a box. They are awesome and you can decorate them on the outside however you want. I wish I had a picture of them but I hope this helps.

Well, I used the lunch tins and had still a little room after 25 cards. Mom loved. She may need a refill on the thank you cards (5) that she used for the xmas holidays. There was 1-2 she said she loved too much to use and would keep. ;-)

Thanks for the great ideas ladies. I, too, had made a "pack" of cards for my mother and MIL(s). I had used a template using my ScorPal for the package. All 3 women really liked their gifts.
