I don't have a gallery, but I love simple cards. The layered and embellished ones are lovely, but the simple ones really can take your breath away. I just love the concept. It just always makes me feel like I couldn't send one into a swap because people would see it as lazy or not enough. I think it's fine, because all I care about are ideas or nice cards, regardless of what's on the front. I just never know if other people feel that way.
Karen, your cards are lovely. Thanks for sharing.
Julie's gallery is great. Thanks for the tip.
I am still not a fan club member. My DH doesn't want me giving money to the "cult". ;) Seriously, my budget is fixed for stamps and I don't want to spend my money on books, magazines or the fan club when I have so many papers, inks and stamps to buy. Don't worry - my diaper purchases through amazon.com benefit SCS.

This isn't quite a single layer, but what Kristen did with the top layer would translate well to a single layer and it's been in my faves, just for the layering without layers.

You do not need to be a member of the fan club to view the Dirty Dare '07 gallery!
Non fan club members could not participate in the challenges or upload to the special gallery set aside for this.
However,I thought the gallery for the dare to get dirty challenges was open for all of SCS to view and comment. I just checked this again in the thread and it stated that non-clubbers would be able to view and comment.
If the above link didn't work, click on the gallery link at the top and scroll down, you should see the Dare to Get Dirty gallery there. You can search for the no layer cards with this, DTGDjuliehrr, if the above link didn't work.

Hmmm... I tried clicking the Dare to Get Dirty link at the top of the gallery and it didn't work. I tried this: DTGDjuliehrr and only 3 cards came up. :(

Are you a paying supporter of the site? You may not have access because some areas of the site are limited to supporters.

This is an oldie of mine, but still one of my favorites. I've made it so many times in different colors and it always looks crisp and clean. Card4Kim by Tilly at Splitcoaststampers
Great thread. I'm enjoying all the posts - there aren't enough hours in the day to look through the gallery at every new card posted, so threads like this are a kinda 'short cut' for me!

Just to add some information here - a customer told me that prisons do not allow a prisoner to keep a layered card. That they must open it under surveillance and read it, and then return it so that it can be destroyed. Drugs can easily be smuggled in between layers, even little objects like brads could be fashioned and used as a weapon. When sending cards to a prison, no layers are best.
