Show me the hardware stamp set, please!

I keep hearing talk of this stamp set that has hardware images which you emboss so that it looks like the real thing. Now I'm an SU! demo, so I never look twice at other stamps, but this I want to see, and perhaps even buy.

Thanks!

Meema 07-26-2006 05:59 PM

Hvae you seen a TAC catalog? There is a hardware stamp set in there.

stargirl 07-26-2006 06:06 PM

I will pm you.

fool4scrapping 07-26-2006 06:06 PM

Page 100 of the new SU catty.... Power up is the set... and you can purchase it from yourself ;)

fool4scrapping 07-26-2006 06:09 PM

nevermind... that 's a tool set, not hardware... my mistake...

PolarBear 07-26-2006 06:10 PM

There is also Finials and Frames on page 163.

njbaker 07-26-2006 06:10 PM

CTMH has one too... Brilliant Bookplates.
I bought it awhile ago... before the Finials and Frames came out for SU this year.... page 163.

njbaker 07-26-2006 06:12 PM

But I bought ours anyway as I'm a SU demo and can actually demo it!!

stargirl 07-26-2006 06:22 PM

Oh, I missed Finials and Frames! I really like that set. I'm going to go check the gallery and see if there's anything cool in there with it.

scrappinchick 07-26-2006 06:31 PM

TAC's set is called Hip Hardware and is super cute embossed and really looks like metal embellishments. :)

jeaniebean55 07-26-2006 06:37 PM

Can some one make a card with the TAC Hip Hardware and show it? I'm thinking I may need to buy that!

I love the hinges-emboss with a tone on tone on the SU metallic paper-ooh that would look cute!

TAC consultant in Canada

Is there anyone who is a TAC consultant in Canada, preferably Alberta? I'd like to hear from you.

Thanks.
barb

scrappinchick 07-26-2006 07:19 PM

TAC doesnt currently ship and have demos in Canada.

scrappinchick 07-26-2006 07:20 PM

If you also want to see more Hip Hardware samples, A Shade Of Blue gallery has many card samples
http://www.ashadeofblue.net/Boards/portal.php?page=2
check it out! Just type in Hip Hardware into the search area, and a bunch of cards will come up!! ;)

nvscrapmom 07-26-2006 07:48 PM

ctmh also has a set called antique tags, I don't have a pic of it, but you can see it on their site. I have it but I have only used it twice.

Here a card that I made using the Hip Hardware Stamp. I did not emboss it. I just added Brads to it.

Thanks for all the visuals, ladies! You're awesome! :)

allamericanstampers 07-27-2006 03:53 AM

I used Hip Hardware on a card I shamelessly cased from emilymomto3boys...used SU's Easy Elegance with it. In hindsight, I should've used brads to really finish it off...oh well, next time!

Wow! I bet that would look awesome! I never really paid attention to that set but now I have to have it!

Nedatn 07-28-2006 01:07 PM

Are there any angels out there who could tell me how much the Hip Hardware set might run? I've tried finding it on thier website without much luck. Also how much catalogs run. I am in Knoxville, TN btw.

Thanks,
Annetta

TAC Hip Hardware

I've been looking at all of the examples using this hardware, but I can't figure out if I would need to cut the center part out of the rectangle, square, or oval shaped "hardware" after stamping the hardware image. I'm not very good at using my craft knife, so it probably wouldn't look very smooth around the edges, and all of the pictures in the gallery and in this thread look so nice and smooth. Do you just emboss around the edges and leave the center part so a message can be stamped in the center? Could someone please help me figure this out? Thank you.

Topaz_n29 03-09-2007 05:18 PM

awww poor Canada..sniff sniff..we're always left out in the cold..no pun intended..lol..loves ya Gail

I have one card in my gallery that I used the Hip Hardware on.
I used black embossing powder on it.
//www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=350640&cat=500&ppuser=33618

And this one....And I now know I should have used Black Brad instead of the white one.
//www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=286191&cat=500&ppuser=33618
I just stamped the hardware image on the card with Black ink.

Hope this helps...

She's not the only one that will ship to Canada!

There are other's of us (TAC demo's) that are willing to do so... I know that I have and will continue to do so.

Just wished that TAC would go there too!!!

housefan 03-10-2007 08:11 AM

Try going to this site and typing in Antique tags.

Sorry I noticed the link doesn't work!

troopersma 03-10-2007 09:42 AM

Can I ask a silly question...those of you that emboss the image and then cut it out to look like a tag...how do you manage to do that without having the embossing start flaking?

Jane

I would love to know this also, as mine always flakes badly. I have the CTMH Antique tags, but I have only used them twice for this reason.
