I use an emory board to clean my stumps and I bought an evelope sealer at the post office to put the mineral spirits in. It has a sponge top, so you just press the stump in that and it gets it wet. HTH!

I like my stump to be pretty wet, I keep dipping it in. And then I sand it down between colours. Does that make sense?
I'm not sure how others do it.

I just work with a piece of SU scratch paper under my work. Then I scribble it around a few times and all of the extra comes off. When I am all done with a project I will sand it down a little but not necessary. I do the scribble thing after every color because they will transfer and I hate to get mixed colors if that is not what I was going for! AS far as the wettness of it, I cut a corner off of a sponge and let it get really wet, then I put it in a snack size baggie and it stays wet for a long time. If I am doing a big project, I have to re-dip the sponge maybe a few times. If the stump is not wet enough it will make the paper squeek and the colors won't blend as easy. Hope this helps a little?
