Share a card you CASED!
Ok, let's STOP the ugliness regarding casing! Casing is all part of learning to stamp! I do NOT want a debate in this thread, there are a gazillion other threads you can take your debate to! So please, if you don't have anything nice to say in this one, don't say anything!

Now on to the FUN stuff!! I was always leary of posting stuff I CASED until BadSherry posted an eye opening comment. SU ENCOURAGES CASING! So if it's good enough for Shelli Gardner, it's good enough for me!

I challenge ALL of you to find a card that you cased and post a link to it here. If you have the original in your favs, post that link as well! If not, then just tell us where you found the inspiration. You don't even have to name names if you don't remember.

Here's mine:

Thanks mtnstamper for the inspiration!

My Card (image may still be pending!)

Inspiration Card

again, thanks mtnstamper for the inspiration!

Well, I've definitely CASE'd and posted, so no need to upload anything for me! :)

This was pamage's wedding plaque (I love this!!):

Here's the card I made with many, many CASE'd elements from that plaque:

Here's mine...http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...8&ppuser=49000

I cased this from emilymomto3boys. She's one of my stampin idols! As usual, her's is much prettier than mine...http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...00&ppuser=2042

handstampedhappiness 08-02-2006 06:21 AM

Great idea for a thread by the way. :)

BadSherry 08-02-2006 06:21 AM

I don't typically case cards but I did see a card in one of the many stamper magazines (and for the life of me, I can't remember which one now, it's buried deep in my cabinet, but I will find it) that I was quite taken with. Inspired by the layout of the card, this is my version:

From The Heart

Yours is just as beautiful! Funny your inspiration card was inspired by others, too!:-D Guess it proves the whole "case";)

Here is my most recent CASE:

Totally CASEd from this awesome card:

I have one at home that I 100% CASEd and never uploaded cause it was such an exact copy but I think i'll upload it after lunch and share that one too cause it is my very favoritest card I have ever made!

Anna741 08-02-2006 06:26 AM

Here's mine...

...which was inspired by this gorgeous card by Julia S...

A humble attempt to CASE:

Lisa Lisa's most excellent card:

labullard 08-02-2006 06:47 AM

What a great thread! I have learned so much by CASEing other SCS stampers' wonderful cards, and I've really enjoyed making others aware of the talented artists who inspired me. Here's a couple of mine:

I love how you were so in awe you wanted to try it, and Emily said her card was inspired by two others -- yours is like the grandbaby! :)

I don't have a lot of CASEd (I just LOVE the term "scraplifting" and wish we cardmakers had something similarly clever!) stuff in my gallery, but here's what I did upload!

This card was almost completely copied from a card I found in leggycountrygirl's gallery, and you know what's funny? When I went back to find it, I discovered that I wasn't the first one, either! It was a little embarrassing when my card got so many more views and comments, and I tried posting a comment of my own directing people back to the original card... I think that angel has three times the comments of anything else in my gallery, and it wasn't even my idea, LOL!

The design for my first altered comp book came from a stationery holder lisahenke posted.

row4d 08-02-2006 06:56 AM

There are a couple of others, but those are the two I'm most proud of! :)

creative~inker 08-02-2006 06:57 AM

I have not cased a card yet, I am new to this site. What a great topic and excercise in learning techniques. I'm enjoying the comparisons of cases and getting inspired! MHO is that we learn by doing and, at times, the "doing" gets hard (or boring) and turning to see what others have created is merely an artist's impulse - it comes naturally. Here's to all those who inspire!

LilLuvsStampin 08-02-2006 07:13 AM

Here's one I closely cased from darleenstamps:
(I don't know how to copy and paste more than one link with going back and forth, so I don't have the link to her card here. Sorry.)

willosmama 08-02-2006 07:14 AM

OKAY- Heres one I cased the colors from cookiestamper, but it took a life of it own...

And now I cannot find her card!

willosmama 08-02-2006 07:17 AM

What is Cased?

SkyesMom 08-02-2006 07:26 AM

My absolute favorite I cased from Julie HRR, it is exact but I thought it was brilliant for holiday cards especially if yu have to make a lot.

This is Julie HRR's card:

prbloom 08-02-2006 07:27 AM

What a fun idea. There is my card that I cased from Julie HRR!

It's a stamping acronym -- Copy and Share/Steal/Stamp Everything. I think there's a link to more of the acronyms used on this site on the SCS homepage!

Thank you Rachel!

I have a few...
but I really like this one, it's with the Cowboy Kid stamp set...

Mine: Lori's b-day

Inspiration card by StamperSharon: LSC62 Designer Cowgirl Birthday

absolutely loved this, but mine pales in comparison!

Thanks for starting this thread!

fionna51 08-02-2006 07:55 AM

This is my card...I was inspired by Jenn and Beate...who were going back and forth posting similar cards!

Boy, did I have a hard time finding Jenn's card...and I couldn't find any of the others from that time frame...but you get the idea!

fionna51 08-02-2006 07:57 AM

I sure do miss the edit button!...Wanted to say that Jenn's card inspired multitudes of similar cards...same layout and multitudes of color combos and/or stamp sets used!

fool4scrapping 08-02-2006 08:05 AM

this is another one inspired by a couple different people. Jeanne S was putting so many cute things IN the bucket, that I would try putting the bucket ON something....

maybe we should charge everyone who inspired us and "made" us buy that stamp? ;) That would be broken down to like, .07 each!

lbirus 08-02-2006 08:35 AM

Such a fun thread! Here's my feeble attempt to CASE one of my stampn idols 11Valerie11:

Here's my result:

(Mine is only 'more-better' because it has such cute kids in it...imho!)

BTW, it's really interesting to me that most of these supposed CASEd cards are really quite different from the originals. See, our creativity cannot help but come through.

I think I'll call them "STAMPSPIRED" instead!

trudee 08-02-2006 08:57 AM

When I first joined SCS (2004) I found this card by JanTink that I *loved*!! I didn't even know what CASEing was, LOL!
Here's hers: //www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=26864&cat=500&ppuser=692

And here's mine: //www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=48066&cat=500&ppuser=9580&sortby=l&sorttime=all&way=desc
