Default Shapies with acrylic stamps

I want to stamp on my DD onesies. I have not had much luck using the craft ink, it fades in just a few washes. I love the onesies that Nicole did Here. While waiting for Papertrey to get the Palette ink spots in stock I was wondering if Sharpies would work. Can they hurt my acrylic stamps? Does anyone have any experience?

Thanks in advance for any advice, hints and or tips. :-D

I wonder if it would stay wet long enough to stamp or if teh ink would dry too quickly right in the stamp itself.

i would try on something old and see how it goes.
Report back! ;)

I don't think Sharpies would work...I think they'll just stain your stamps, and possibly ruin them.

Laurie, DO NOT use Sharpies! They will bleed into the fabric. Even if you label things with one you have to use the special laundry one to avoid that.

I know many that have stamped on fabric using the Palette Inks and are happy with it (TAC sells them so many demos do this). There are also fabric markers made by Fabrico that you can use. Let me know if you need more info and I'll check in with some other demos. I want to try this too!

What about using a craft re-inker and some Textile Medium? Plaid makes some to use with acrylic paint, I have it but haven't used it yet. I was going to just sponge it on the stamp and then use it.

Thank you so much for the info. I really want the Palette inks, but I'm a very implusive, impatient person. I stamped it with craft inks and will cross my fingers that it doesn't fade as bad as the others. I still have 4 onesies left and I will wait to stamp those with Palette ink.

I had a customer use a black Sharpie on one of her SU stamps and it dried too fast to actaully transfer to the paper and it permanently stained her stamp.

I wouldn't do it.

Laurie...

Did you wash the onesie first? I've found that works best to help "set" the craft...but really I haven't had terrific luck with it either! I'm drooling over the palette inks, too...I may just have to break down. I agree that the TAC demo might be the way to go for these, too. Actually, I guess it depends what Nichole is selling them for.

Cute onsie...and even cuter baby!

I've tried washing before stamping, I've tried heat setting both with an iron and my heat gun. So it’s time I tried something different.

I've contacted my Tac demo for some Palette inks. It's market research and that is a good thing.

And thanks for the compliments on my baby, I also think she is a cutie!

Make sure when you wash the fabric, you wash and dry without fabric softener! Just another little hint! ;-) (I do lots of fabric stamping with Palettes--they're great!)
