Default Sewing Tools!

I used to do quite a bit of sewing...mostly stuffed animals, soft sculpture, and home decor items for sale, but it's been years since I did any real sewing. I still have all my tools, though, so I took a look at them today with stamping in mind. I found my old pattern marking wheel which will make nice perforations on paper, and a small disc rotary cutter which will cut curved or straight lines in CS. I've already been using my old ribbons and rickrack! Anyone else use their sewing tools for card making, other than a sewing machine and needle and thread, of course!

I have tons of leftover specialty threads from cross stitch projects that I like to use on my cards. I use it instead of ribbon or to tie on a tag. Fun stuff!

I have most of my sewing stuff packed away...but I did think about it! Just think how darn cute that teeny tiny baby ric-rac would look on a card! (I made Cabbage Patch Clothes)
I did a card for my son and spelled out Happy Birthday in gold cording by hand stitching it. (Won't do one of those again for a long time! lol!) Just think of all the needlepoint and canvases we have put away! omg! lol! Oh my I just thought how about the old snap setting tools? I have of those for making my kids some toddler romper clothes. I wonder what we can do with velcro?? ! ! oh the possibilities!

Yes I just did a card but not uploaded with the wheel you just described...looked cool.

I use long quilting pins with the plastic head for glueing a thin line.

My 6" slide rulers are always at my side, three of them and I use them constantly. A long quilling tool works too.

And I just found out today that a seam ripper does a pretty good job of distressing the paper edge. I can't find one of those tools in the store.

I have a basket making pick that's nice for faux stitching but I still prefer the machine.
That it!
